Beyond the Gates: Best of the Week ending 28th November: Marcel sees Leslie as an opportunity

What happened on Beyond the Gates

A very short week indeed for Beyond the Gates: two repeats and a preemption give us only two episodes to consider, but a lot happened in just those two. The one thing that really stood out here was Marcel's (Darryl W. Handy) meeting with Leslie at Uptown. Now Marcel knows exactly what Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) has been accused of, and sure, he’s a bad man and a bag man in his own right, but Marcel wants to retire, not in jail, but in the Caribbean. So getting into cahoots with the clown queen of crime herself isn’t going to be his angle.

At the precinct, Marcel and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) got into it over heated words about Marcel's stellar attitude toward policing, and Jacob let it be known he thought the same. Jacob also challenged Marcel to go out on a high note and close some high-profile cases before his retirement. This resonated with the once-famous and decorated detective, and he was surveying Leslie as a new target. Marcel made some small talk with Leslie, and it was immediately apparent that he was no stranger to beguiling a mark and not letting his true intentions show. We know Joey (Jon Lindstrom) isn’t targeting Leslie, so all points to Marcel seeing if he can find the chink in her armour and get in close with her, all to gather the required evidence, or, as we do not doubt that he could, plant the evidence needed.

What’s next on Beyond the Gates?

Marcel attempting to bring Leslie down will make for some compelling viewing, as will seeing how Hayley intends to use Izaiah as part of her devilish plan to kill Bill and enrich her life to the tune of $10 million. With season two of this soap being filmed and set to release in 2026, we have to be aware that there is no way that Season one will end without the biggest cliffhangers we can imagine, and likely waiting to see if Bill lives or dies over the new year, adding more stress to an already stressful time lol.
