What happened on Beyond the Gates

Well, what didn't happen?! Ashley arrived home to find Derek on his feet using the phone. Cause for celebration? Heck no, how dare he? On his own two feet, even. Derek has lied to everyone but Jacob regarding having a return of feeling in his legs. Shanice knew, but she discovered it herself when she prodded him with a needle. Now, Ashley went from OMG this is amazing, to “You lied about this to keep me from Andre,” so fast our heads spun as did Derek's. Try as he did, he couldn't convince Ashley that he wanted to surprise her as she made her way down the aisle at their wedding, which couldn’t be more off.

Ashley, burying the fact that the very reason Derek may have worried about her and Andre was the fact that she was very much, and obviously so, in love with him. She had a framed set of photos from when she delivered a baby in an elevator with Andre’s help. The only thing missing was Andre’s clothes in one of the drawers near the bed. Ashley took off her ring and put it on the table, and walked out, leaving a very distraught Derek behind, wondering how his life could have been flipped, turned upside down. If you have a minute, sit right there, and I’ll tell you how Derek ended up in despair.

Ashley then got a stern talking to from Naomi, who wanted to impress upon Ashley that she was not, I repeat, not to do a Hayley and go after Andre again, as her mother was happy. She did that exact thing, went after Andre again. Messaging him to come over because they needed to talk. But Andre is a different man now, and let her down easy, telling her that he was in love with his wife—best Scene of the week.
