On Beyond the Gates, Ted and Carlton are about to go to war over Nicole. This is awful to see, two friends and colleagues now at odds over the woman one married and the other has held a candle for.

We have learnt that Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) met Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) first, had a crush on her, but never made a move. Then a medical conference in Hawaii happened, and Nicole came back, but she was now married to Ted (then played by Maurice Johnson). Carlton did nothing, but he simply bided his time, hoping and praying that the lady he desired would become single again. All this time, though, Ted thought that Carlton was his friend, not just his colleague. They had a successful plastic surgery clinic that prospered.

Now we fast-forward to Ted and Nicole's disastrous wedding anniversary and the subsequent divorce, and suddenly, Carlton turns his back on his buddy. We first saw the signs that maybe this was where it was all heading when, not long after the anniversary party, Carlton said to Ted, “I could flirt with Nicole and make you look good for when you make it up to her.” And flirt he did, but none of that was for Ted; it was selfish and not at all being a good friend, and for those aware of the “Bro Code,” Carlton violates several of its articles.

At the very least, Carlton should have approached Ted and told him that he had always had feelings for Nicole, and now that this has happened, how would he feel if he made his intentions known to her? This would have given Ted a chance to voice his feelings, and then, if Carlton still wanted to, despite that, at least it would not have been behind Ted’s back. This week is going to get volatile. Carlton didn't talk to Ted first; he’s totally turned his back on his friend and gone after Nicole, even having a Q&A with her family about his motives. This week, after getting all fired up by her sister Dani (Karla Mosley), Nicole is going to make a bold move, and this is going to come to a head at Garland Memorial Hospital. Ted and Carlton are going to come face to face, and it’s going to get heated and nasty. Not at all how this should be going, what would make this author very happy would be if Ted and Carlton just shook hands and said that no girl would ever come between them and head to Uptown for a well-deserved beer and a laugh.

But that, soap fans is not at all how this will play out and get your popcorn ready, as Ted and Carlton exchange heated words and maybe a fist or two.
