Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Tuesday, December 23rd:

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

I know we are talking a lot about Anita and Vernon and her health crisis, but this is huge and has really brought out the supreme acting ability of these two. Clifton Davis and Tamara Tunie have given us the very best of themselves. The heartfelt scenes today felt so very real, and every emotion was believable. From Vernon’s disbelief that his wife would keep it from him, telling her that he should have been there for her to help her weather the storm, telling her his vows to love her in sickness and health meant everything to him. Anita told Vernon how she wanted to see them all. If this was to be the last Christmas she had with her family, it was impossible to hold it in at times, and tears were shed.

Hearing Vernon holding the photo of him and Anita from many years ago, tears in his eyes, telling Anita he was terrified of losing her. All of it just came together to be so powerful, and that was something we haven't had on BTG. We have had highs and lows for sure, but it took this storyline to give us the very best of them when they were dealing with the very worst.
