Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Thursday, January 1st: Seriously, Kat, this has to be made about you, too?
Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates
Today was the day that everyone in the family found out that Anita has breast cancer. Chelsea and Naomi found out, by accident, as they were headed around to see Anita and Vernon and drop off gifts and balloons, and overheard them talking about cancer. Vernon tried to downplay it, and Anita decided that they deserved to know. This blew up when Chelsea and Naomi went around to see their mom and found their dad there, too. Bill quickly shut down their angle of demanding to know why they weren't told as soon as Dani had found out. But the worst of the day goes to, again, Kat Richardson for her annoying and self-centred way of dealing with everything and once again showing everyone that Kat really only cares about Kat. Someone in the family needs to slap that girl and make sure she knows the world does not actually revolve around her.
In Season Two of Beyond the Gates, something will happen to Kat to ground her and return her to the mortal world we all live in. Until then, I’m just going to fast-forward all her scenes.
