Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, the aftermath of the disastrous anniversary party was being felt by all. Leslie had rocked on up to the Dupree mansion, and instead of blackmailing the Duprees like she had told Eva she would, she wanted a seat at the high council of the Duprees for Eva. Leslie pleaded the case that no matter what she had done and said, Eva was Ted’s biological daughter, and that couldn't be denied. She asked if they could find it in their hearts to not shut her out. Now this was a big ask, of course, and met the ire and displeasure of everyone currently there. Bold words from the woman who had organized her daughter to infiltrate the Richardsons' home and assimilate herself into the life of Nicole.

No one mentioned Laura, which surprised me greatly. What about her and her misfortune of having a heart attack under such mysterious circumstances? Anyway, she got a mouthful from Martin, who became a hothead and showed us the fury that boils just beneath the surface, and then another blasting from Anita. And when Leslie tried to make a retort, Vernon barked at her to “choose silence.” Thanks, Vernon, that was a great contribution.

I digress, on one hand Leslie is all “don't abandon Eva” and then as soon as she gets home, pours herself a glass of wine and listens to Eva crying at the chained front door for her momma. Mom of the Year 2025: Leslie Thomas.
