Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Welcome back to BTG after the Thanksgiving holiday repeats and preemption. The week has well and truly kicked off with a hiss and a roar. I’m so happy we got a scene with Ashley and Derek and Derek and Andre. These conversations needed to happen. I’m sure we all thought about the fact that Ashley went straight to Andre after taking her ring off, messaged him, and then over he came. That had to hurt hearing that, but having that conversation on screen was great. Derek owned his deception, so why didn't Ashley? And what did she mean she never acted on her feelings for Andre? Have we forgotten the trip to Paris at Andre’s apartment? Sure, they never slept together, but is that the litmus test these days? The yardstick to determine whether feelings were acted on?

Ashley never mentioned any of that. Confronting Andre was great too, not because I don’t like Andre, I do, he’s one of my faves and has had some of the best character development on the show. Derek and Andre had danced around the topic, but Derek's venting was natural. With luck, the Ashley Derek thing is well and truly dead and buried, and both get to move in new directions. Great start to a new week, BTG!
