Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Tuesday, December 30th:

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Happy New Year! New Year's kicked off, at least it did at The Fairmont Crest Country Club and Orphey Genes. Uptown was a mess, with awkward conversations all around, and the interaction between Kat, Tomas, Jacob, and Naomi was hardly that of four people who know each other really well and are sharing the end of the year and welcoming in the new year together. But it just got worse. Chelsea had been more cagey than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs as she waited for her secret guest to arrive.

Kenny Latimore. He took the stage and gave one of the most self-indulgent performances I have seen in such a long time. The song should have been titled, “It’s all for me.” We even had to listen to the whole song, too, but I guess if you paid for the guy to be on the show, you might as well let him take the stage and have the whole time be about him. Give me Anita and The Articulettes back any day. Highlight of the episode though was at the countdown actually getting to see Ted turn to Shanice and take her softly and kiss her. A New Year's wish for Ted and Shanice, don’t scew this up, we need this couple.
