Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Anita came back and not a moment too soon! Anita Dupree graced Fairmont Crest with her presence for just one day, and then she is heading back to Chicago. While she won't be able to help Martin as she is kept in the dark about developments there, she can and did help her daughters, Dani and Nicole. Well, kind of. Once the surprise that Anita was there had worn off, Anita said she would conduct one-on-one conversations with all of them, starting with Dani, her little troublemaker. Nicole almost immediately snarked that it was the apt description for her sister. And to be honest the whole time, she had a face like she had sucked an orchard of lemons and was looking for more. Everyone, including Anita, noticed the cool, chilly blast through the room, and for the first time in a while, it wasn't Febreze.

Not only did Anita greenlight Dani’s relationship with Andre after hearing how kind Andre was to her daughter, but she also took Nicole to task over being so projective of her own anger and directing it in all the wrong places. Nicole bristled at this and still tried to say that the relationship was an abomination. Wow, does she think so little of Andre? No one has really gotten through to Nicole, but now she’s alienating herself from just about everyone. Ted was right; she'd better snap out of it before she becomes a lonely woman. Of note, this will be the last regular daily yapp; it will become a bi or tri-weekly thing as of next week, and dive into the scenes and moments that made us go, “what the heck.”
