Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Monday, June 30th: Back to the beginning
Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Today, we got to re-watch the season premiere, episode numero uno, and go back to where it all started. It started with a glorious drive through the exquisitely manicured grounds of Fairmont Crest. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix) took us for a drive through the very gates of Fairmont Crest to the Country Club. We got to see several things of note, one being Dani’s (Karla Mosley) quick-to-burn rage as she hurled not one but two coffee mugs onto the floor. We got to see “The Fixer” Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyke Durett) make a client's problems go away with a single phone call, because, as Bill says, connections and favors make the world go around, and now this person owes him one.

This first episode did what it needed to do, introduce all of the leading players in this soap and give a little bit of history through dialogue of how they all fit together before ending the first outing with a scene where Dani, after finding out from Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) the realtor, that Hayley (Marquita Goings) has not only stolen her husband and is getting married in this very country club, but is now moving into Fairmont Crest. Dani, no longer able to contain her anger or disrespect, slaps Hayley upside the head, then all the Duprees who were gathered there walk past in a single file, offering glares and snarks. Consider yourself put on notice, Hayley. Eighty-two episodes later, Hayley is still one of the most hated ladies in this leafy, Maryland suburb.

And eighty-one episodes it took to get these two about to have their first date!
