Beyond the Gates Daily YAPP Recap, May 19: Ashley is heartbroken

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

So many things! And I don't know where to start, but for a change, I'm going to talk about Derek and Ashley. Ashley comes home early as she forgot her lunch, good thing she did too, as Derek was in the middle of being Sady the cleaning lady and had used a steel wool scourer to wolverine Ashley's stainless steel fridge. As you can guess, she was suitably miffed by this, and it soon became a “you don't care about my things and it makes me think you don't care about me either” type thing. Then, to really add salt to the wound, the iffy-smelling fridge item Derek deep-sixed in the trash was Ashley's Vindaloo lunch. Derek fished it out of the trash, but by then, Ashley was over the situation, it seemed.

Derek asked if now was the time to talk about moving to a bigger place, read the room, Derek, it was not. Derek took the hint and started packing his bags. Ashley, too upset to go to work, headed to Uptown. Ashley had only just gotten off the phone with Shanice, informing her she was unwell and couldn't work, when in walked Andre. Noticing she was upset, he asked what was wrong. It’s not hard to see where things go from here. Andre will see that Ashley gets home ok, being the gentleman that he is, and Derek will misconstrue what he hears when he inevitably overhears the two of them. Get your popcorn ready, fam.
