Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

It’s not often that soap operas make me laugh out loud, but even rarer than hen’s teeth is the show making me snort and laugh. So Doug was at the hospital, and no one had seen or heard of his wife. Hmm, wonder where she could be? Doug decided to take off early and go look for her. First stop, Orphey Gene’s, great choice. Vanessa and Doug were there celebrating their savvy at having a realty deal go very, very well for them, holding hands, and Doug just missed seeing that, but totally saw them looking cozy. Doug comes over and says, I see you’re celebrating me coming out of my cast, without me.” Yeah, Vanessa, you were too busy to remember that was happening today, we got it. Doug declines the invite to stay and chat, and rather than feel like a third wheel, leaves. As he’s heading to the door, in walk the foursome of Samantha, Smitty, Vernon and Martin (Who’s doing anything he can to dodge having a real convo with Smitty) as they pass each other in the doorway, Martin greets Doug with, “ Dr. McBride, whats good?” and Doug says with a foul expression, “Not a damn thing” and pushes past and through the door. That bit had me howling. It doesn't take the foursome long to spot what could have put Doug in such a foul mood.
