Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Anita had her talk with Tracy go a little bit differently than she imagined. Tracy forced Anita to really look at the past, and Anita did just that. Tracy is going to try to talk to Sharon and broker peace, but that's not the bit that got me today, no, it was Vernon and Anita's discussion afterward that did it. The wise sage, Vernon Dupree, had this wonderful scene with his wife Anita, where he told her that what had happened between her and the other members of The Articulettes was a whole lifetime ago and that she is not that person anymore and not to pay it any more mind. Great advice, Vernon, but kind of hypocritical, don’t ya think? Could you maybe find it in your heart to apply that to Ted? Nicole is hurt, yes, but that affair happened a lifetime ago, and Ted’s not that person anymore, either. A lifetime ago, literally Kat’s lifetime ago, as it happened prior to her being born. And every day since, Ted made it his mission to make Nicole feel loved and important to him and to be the very best dad that he could be. Everyone saw it, and everyone commented on how good he was at all of those things. So my question is this: Why can’t Vernon apply that logic to Ted, and help him heal the wounds of the past like he does with his wife?
