Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Thursday, November 6th: Izaiah used to work for Joey and Andre did the right thing
Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Today was one of several gasp moments — and an OMG. Thank goodness for that! Let’s dive in. Izaiah Hawthorne is an old mate of Joey's? Wow, I totally didn't see that one coming. We are still waiting for Greg Vaughan to join the cast, after all. That was a nice little bit of backstory on young Izaiah, though, and that Joey let him go instead of sending him down a dark and heavy path. Even Vanessa thought that was mighty benevolent of him. I’m still wanting to see what, if anything, is up between Izaiah and Naomi. I haven't forgotten Naomi's reaction to seeing him in Uptown after so long, and Izaiah's comment to Jacob after catching his stumbling wife,” I gotta catch what you can’t hold down.” There's something scandalous there, I can feel it.

Then, as I knew she would, as soon as Derek was out of the way, Ashley was messaging Andre and wanting to talk. She led with wanting to be honest with him about her feelings for him and asked if it was too late for them. And Andre did the right thing: he told her he was married, that he was about to go on his honeymoon with Dani, and that he could be there for her, but not the way she wanted. He let her hands go and then left the apartment, without looking back. Thank goodness, I was hoping that Andre wouldn't return to Ashley's orbit of nonsense. Poor Jacob better ready himself for the storm.
