Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Wednesday, October 20th: Leslie pulls the switch on Ted and Nicole's marriage

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Sometimes knowing is better than not knowing and this may not be how Ted felt at the end of todays episode, but he will soon. After Martin and Smittys weddding Nicole went around to Teds hotel room and the intention there was to sleep with him, however the perennial bad penny, Leslie showed up. She didnt interrupt the couple in the middle of something herself, no. Instead she saw them from the hallway as Nicole went into the room and waited a beat or two and pulled the fire alarm. Putting an end to any coitus and sending Nicole scurrying from the room.

Ted thinking that it was a sign that there may be hope, had a lovely flower arrangement delivered to Nicole’s house. The gesture fell flat and in the cold hard light of day, the Ice Queen, froze out any thoughts of getting back with Ted despite some pretty solid efforts from her employees, Mona and Laura. Instead Nicole met with Ted at Orphey Genes and told Ted that she loves him, and always will but love in their situation just isn't enough. The marriage is over and forever will be. Ted and Nicole hugged and she walked out the door and Ted watched it, and his marriage shut. I think Ted needed to hear that so he could reinvest his efforts into something worthwhile.
