Beyond the Gates' Dani and Doug drown their sorrows

On Beyond the Gates, Dani and Doug are drowning their sorrows at Uptown. What's causing such a funk, and how will they help each other through a rough time? We have a few ideas.

What's happening on Beyond the Gates

Will Dani and Doug do the dirty after their dive bar conversation together? That's a lot of D’s. Dani headed to Uptown after she had made an unsolicited appearance at Bill and Hayley's. Dani was there to give Hayley a piece of her mind and caution Bill that she thought Hayley was a no-good gold digger trying further to sink her claws into Bill and his money. See, Dani just found out through the grapevine, aka Chelsea, that Hayley announced she was pregnant. Dani believes this news as much as she believes that Vodka is for after 4 pm only. After the conversation became a rag session, Dani went after Hayley. She, for the first time, gave it back as well as she got it, and Dani was warned that she would regret it if she came after her again. Wow, Hayley does have some claws. Is that hormones talking, or aggression because she’s lying? We’re going to have to wait to find out. Dani got served at Uptown even after it was clear that the last calls had already been made. Dani declared that she was Dani Dupree, not that anyone couldn't have known; it’s a small community. How many other residents of Fairmont Crest have turned weddings into the OK Corral?

Doug had a phone call with Joey that set the mood for Doug’s entire night. To sum it up, Doug asked Joey if he meant that if he didn't give Joey what was his, Joey would take what was Doug’s, and to that Joey said, “Excellent, you are finally using that brain that got you your medical degree.” Making it very clear that Joey would take Doug's wife if he didn't get his money and to come by later, which was not asked as a request, as much as an order. Doug’s wife, Vanessa, was at Uptown earlier with Joey, and the flirting was on the level. Joey then took Vanessa to the casino, and it turned out that she had quite a knack for the poker table. Doug arrived at the casino and saw Joey with Vanessa again. So Doug, now feeling quite dejected and out of options, went for a drink. And that's how Doug ended up at the same dive bar as Dani. He, too, was told that the bar was closed. Still, Dani insisted he be served as well and that a hefty tip was in store for the waiter; he returned with a drink for Doug quicker than Vanessa could get Joey out of his clothes, which was why Doug was there in the first place.

So while Joey and Vanessa got straight flushed on the poker table, what’s Doug to do? He might as well have a crack at Dani. Dani is single and not too sure about her future with Andre. Doug is as single as a man who’s been told his wife has extramarital affairs on the regular. Doug doesn't seem like the kind of guy to step out on his wife, even knowing that she does, but after tonight and some alcohol, this soap might just get a little dirtier.
