Here's what went down Friday, August 29, 2025 on Beyond the Gates when Eva went to Tomás for backup, Martin followed Nicole's lead in being the last to know, and Jacob called road trip.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Martin swore to Nicole that Chelsea would be home soon, especially if Kat had anything to do with it. Mother and son reminisced about how attached the cousins were, even as little girls; Martin confided that Kat and Chelsea had once spied on him and a girlfriend, before he was even out to himself. Nicole saw hope for Martin's marriage when he reported that he was back at the condo, albeit sleeping on the couch. But when Martin asked about his parents' marriage, Nicole revealed that she was in the process of divorcing Ted.
Learning that Ted hadn't said anything to Martin, Nicole sniffed that Ted had always left it up to her to deliver bad news to their kids. Martin wondered if his mom and dad could tiptoe toward a reconciliation, as he and Smitty seemed to be doing, but when Nicole couldn't limit her reasons for filing to the revelations about Leslie and Eva, Martin realized that Ted keeping his torment in regard to “Kenneth” a secret had been the final straw.
Nicole promised Martin that he was blameless in her final split from Ted; Mrs. Richardson held Mr. Richardson responsible for all the deception. Martin was still hopeful that his parents would reunite, but was realistic enough to accept that it might not happen.
Tomás sat at Bill's desk, assuring his boss that he had everything that handled and that all Bill needed to concentrate on was getting Chelsea back. Eva stopped by, and Tomás remarked how beautiful she looked. Tomás listened as Eva explained how her mother had bought a home right across from the Duprees. “Provocative much?” the junior lawyer commented. Eva realized that she talked to Tomás about Leslie a lot, but Tomás said he liked listening to her. There was a charged moment between the two, which Eva broke by asking if Tomás could come in as a reinforcement to talk Leslie into giving up the house – Eva had already asked Ted to do the same.
Eva understood when Tomás said his plate was full, covering for Bill, and realized the Duprees must be in hell with Chelsea gone...and that Tomás must be worried for Kat, Chelsea's beloved cousin. Tomás hurt for Kat, whatever their own issues were; Eva labeled him “one of the good guys.” Eva had wanted to check on Kat but knew her half-sister wouldn't want to see her; however, Eva surmised that Tomás should be at Kat's side with her best friend and cousin missing.
Following Eva's advice, Tomás left a message for Kat. Eva readied to leave, but Tomás insisted on hearing how he could help her with Leslie. Ms. Thomas mentioned how Leslie had expressed a desire to paint her house magenta to annoy the Duprees and wondered if there was anything that could be done legally should Leslie decide to fly an “I Hate Nicole” flag on her lawn. Tomás promised to look into any Homeowners' Association regulations that Eva could use to keep Leslie in line. Eva appreciated that and hoped that Ted could talk some sense into her mom.
Leslie double locked her door after Bill's threatening visit. When there was a knock, Leslie assumed Bill had returned and issued a series of threats – but her guest was Ted. Leslie was surprised at Ted's intention to do something for her, ranting that he had instead come to stand behind Bill's demand that she nullify the sale of the house she'd bought. Ted finally got a word in and said he wanted Leslie to live in his house instead.
“Yes! Whoo!” Leslie cheered when Ted divulged that Nicole had filed for divorce. Ted shocked Leslie by admitting he might be better off without Nicole after all – and that Nicole might want half of everything he owned. Leslie deemed the Duprees greedy and incorrectly assumed that Nicole and Ted owned their house jointly. Ted revealed that the property was in his name alone and, to prevent Nicole from ending up with it, he was willing to sign it over to Leslie.
Leslie was astonished that Ted wanted to simply give her his former home. Ted still felt that Leslie had “taken a wrecking ball to [his] life,” but he couldn't deny that Leslie had likewise given him a daughter in Eva, whom he'd been growing close to. Leslie teared up, saying she'd known Ted would one day understand why she'd had her baby anyway. Ted considered Eva as much his child as he did Martin and Kat, and he didn't want the latter's childhood home to be sold to strangers by Nicole. By deeding the house to Leslie, Eva could live in the same place where her siblings had been raised...and Ted then suggested that perhaps, in time, he could move in there with Eva – and Leslie.
Ted clarified that he had no romantic objectives; he was just tiring of living out of a hotel. “I'm not Dylan from 90210,” he added, prompting Leslie to affectionately recall how that show's Brenda had gone ballistic when she'd caught Dylan cheating on her with Kelly. Leslie saw herself in Brenda, “the good-hearted underdog who was always abandoned.” Ted joked that, like Brenda, Leslie had found herself surrounded by “pampered princesses like Kelly”; Leslie stuck that tag on Nicole.
Leslie wondered if Ted was faking her out, really planning on moving back into that house with “Kelly.” Ted felt that ship had sailed and that Nicole had no say in what he did with his own property – he was willing to sign it over to Leslie right then and there. Leslie said she would call Vanessa and retract her offer on the house facing the Duprees. Ted held Leslie's hand in both of his and said it was up to her whether she wanted to live in that home...or his.
Ted went to Eva's hotel room to fill his daughter in, but would only say that Leslie wouldn't be buying the house she had been set on. Meanwhile, Nicole was on her way out of said domicile when Leslie arrived, crowing that she might keep Nicole's housekeeper. Nicole wanted Leslie out, but Leslie advised Nicole to “go upstairs and pack your little rusty, dusty things.” Leslie illustrated how Ted have given her the house, and, in a British accent, she announced that she was there to kick Nicole's “uppity ass out to the curb.”
Kat read over the Chelsea-centric journal of Allison's that Jacob had unearthed by finding a thumb drive in her storage unit. Jacob couldn't figure out what the stalker's endgame was besides apparently holding Chelsea prisoner. Though Jacob didn't think Allison wasn't planning any violent actions toward the object of her obsession, Kat shuddered to think what Allison did have in mind and began to cry. As Jacob hugged Kat, Madison arrived, sharing Kat's concern that Allison might hurt Chelsea. Kat was shocked to learn that Allison had purposely hurt herself to get Chelsea's attention.
Despite assurances that the department and the FBI were working overtime to find Chelsea, Kat had the sinking feeling that time was running out, going off the highly intuitive tendencies she felt she had inherited from her grandmother on Ted's side. The mention of Kat's grandmother got Jacob thinking of a journal entry of Allison's in which she'd mentioned inheriting “a piece of heaven” from her own grandmother.
Jacob began working on that lead and discovered that Allison had been bequeathed a remote cabin in Virginia. Madison was ready to join Kat, who vehemently said that waiting for proper channels would be a “jurisdictional nightmare” since Chelsea was a resident of Maryland and Jacob was a D.C. cop. Jacob gave in, and the three headed to the neighboring state.
Chelsea barely got out of having to kiss her new “bride” when Allison realized she had forgotten their wedding rings. Allison began to unlock Chelsea's shackles but stopped, now wanting her kiss. Chelsea attempted to beg off, citing how untraditional their relationship had been – which had included their throuple with Craig – but Allison wanted her new wife to pucker up. Chelsea gave Allison a quick peck on the mouth, which Allison considered a tasty tease.
Allison quoted Shakespeare and casually said that a pompous man had once said she was ignorant of the classics – but he was dead now. Chelsea attempted to ask into the statement but Allison pivoted to how happy she was and how only their wedding night could be better. When Chelsea tried to avoid intimacy by pretending to be concerned about how tired Allison must be, Allison admitted to feeling a little worn but was sure her lingerie would knock Chelsea's socks – and the rest of her clothes – off.
With Allison out of the room, Chelsea tried to reach for the butcher knife resting on the table, but she saw Allison coming and retook her place on the bed. Allison came in with a wedding cake; Chelsea offered to cut the first piece and serve it to her “bride.” Allison didn't want Chelsea hurting herself and sliced the cake instead, deciding it would be nice for them to feed each other morsels from it. After they did so, Allison declared that their imminent lovemaking would be even sweeter.
Allison became upset when Chelsea couldn't muster up any enthusiasm about her honeymoon unmentionables. She pulled on Chelsea's tether, then smiled, “I'm just yanking your chain.” Allison claimed to understand how Chelsea could be overwhelmed by their elopement, but professed that everything was different now that they were married. And, they needed to consummate their marriage so that it would be truly binding...“until death do us part.”
Chelsea grabbed Allison's wrist when she made a move, maintaining that they were not going to make love – “not tonight, not ever.” Irked, Allison was sure Chelsea would come around, but Chelsea held her ground and resolutely let Allison know that she didn't love her. Chelsea pled with Allison to let her go, not uncaringly pointing out that Allison deserved better than a person who loved someone else.
Allison seemed to understand, retrieving the keys to Chelsea's handcuffs. But then she threw the keys aside and grabbed the butcher knife, crying that, if she couldn't have Chelsea, no one would.
