Here's what went down Friday, June 6, 2025 on Beyond the Gates, when Kat hit a romantic and evidentiary goldmine, Naomi found out what cured Chelsea's ailments, and Ashley saw a familiar face on a gurney.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Kat walked into Orphey Gene's, overhearing Eva telling Laura on the phone that, despite her being persona non grata at the Richardson house, she was willing to give Laura any further help that she needed. Kat left before Eva even knew she was there and went straight to Eva's hotel, where she was caught lingering outside Eva's room by hotel staff. Flirting, using her name, and lying that her “sister” had given her a key card that wasn't working, Kat convinced the staffer to let her into the suite and presented him with a hefty tip.
Later, Tomás popped by the diner, where Eva was glad to see him. He relayed how Bill had been hospitalized the day before, only to show up to work at the crack of dawn – but the junior lawyer's lunch hour turned into the rest of the day off when he received a text that Bill had cancelled all his afternoon meetings. Eva felt that Bill's recent malaise was karma; Tomás realized that Eva resented Bill for threatening to take Leslie's child away from her. Being asked about her parents, Eva explained that Leslie wanted nothing to do with her and that Ted had kept her from being homeless.
Tomás was glad that Leslie was done dragging Eva into “that whole motorcycle versus car drama.” Eva smirked that she had insurance now, prompting Tomás to ask for elaboration, which Eva did not provide. She told Tomás about the romance audiobook she'd been listening to; Tomás admitted he was a sucker for a good love story and jokingly swore her to secrecy. Eva offered to lend him the physical copy, which she had in her hotel room.
Kat was in the middle of searching Eva's suite when Jacob called, reminding her to let him do his job. She excused herself when she found a box in the closet – but it only contained the book Eva had recommended to Tomás, and some clothes. Meanwhile, Eva brought Tomás into the room and was startled to see her box out of its place in the closet. Kat, hiding under the bed, not only heard Tomás conjecturing that housekeeping had moved it, but she also found the duffel bag with Leslie's helmet and gloves hidden in it.
Eva handed Tomás her book and thanked him for talking to her, as it got “mad lonely” with only her father for company. They hugged, and, while still in the embrace, Eva tried to kiss Tomás – but he pulled back. Not knowing Kat was in the room, he said he cared about Eva, but his heart was elsewhere; Kat was moved. Eva groused that “ice-cold Kat” was more interested in jailing her than in Tomás. Navarro said that Eva didn't know Kat the way he did, and that he wanted to see where things went with her. “Well, I'm happy for one of you, at least,” Eva conceded as Kat could barely contain her glee in her hiding place.
Tomás promised Eva they could be friends and that he wouldn't tell anybody about their almost-kiss. After he left, Kat appeared stuck as Eva relaxed on the bed; suddenly, Eva got a phone call from Laura, who needed more help at work. Eva departed, freeing Kat to make off with the bag of incriminating items.
Bill returned home early from the office, which Hayley said Bill never did unless something was wrong. The lawyer would only say he wanted to be with his smoking hot wife, so Hayley rescheduled an appointment to be with him. After Hayley went upstairs, Bill looked decidedly unwell. Hayley returned, expressing her worry and fear; Bill assured her he would always be there for her and their baby. At Hayley's urging, Bill promised to take better care of himself.
As the Hamiltons discussed having a girl who played baseball or a son who danced ballet, Bill seemed out of breath. Hayley rushed to get him something to drink; after he took a moment, he felt better and decided he was suffering from an additional ailment – a terminal attraction to his wife. The newlyweds began to get frisky on the couch; Hayley wasn't sure Bill, who was supposed to be taking it easy, should be pouncing on her “like a horny teenager,” but she accepted his insistence that he was okay. Moments afterward, he became a dead weight on her, unable to speak. Hayley immediately called 911.
Derek came from the fire station, nervously trying to ask Ashley out. The couple allowed that the thing they missed most from living together was seeing each other every day. They conversed about the excuses Derek was making to sneak over from the firehouse to see Ashley at the hospital; Derek cracked that he could run into another burning building. Just as Ashley lovingly tsked her man with a “don't you dare,” she received a call to expect an incoming patient. It was Bill, who was rolled in with his blood pressure at 200/105. In a panic, Hayley explained how Bill had gone limp and was terrified at the thought of losing her husband; Ashley did her best to calm Hayley down.
At Uptown, Naomi ended a call with Jacob, who was frustrated over Kat's persistent interference in his case. Chelsea griped that Kat was so busy trying to incriminate Eva and Leslie that she was letting her duties at ChelseaKat fall behind. Naomi admitted there was an adrenaline rush to hearing about Jacob's work; Chelsea pointed out that fashion could be just as dangerous. “You try breaking up a fight in six-inch heels!” she protested.
Naomi told Chelsea how their father had refused a hospital stay for his stroke-like symptoms and had insisted upon heading into work. Chelsea listened as Naomi broke down how a TIA is an indicator of insufficient blood flow to the brain that could be a harbinger of deeper problems. When Naomi suggested the sisters drop in on Bill to check on him, Chelsea consulted her schedule; Naomi figured Chelsea was trying to work around another “situationship.” Chelsea branded her love life nonexistent and surprised Naomi by recounting how she had been friend-zoned by a woman.
While Naomi hadn't realized that Chelsea was exploring same-sex possibilities, she wanted Chelsea to be happy no matter who she dated. Just as Chelsea lamented her lack of prospects, Madison, the woman she'd met earlier, walked in to pick up food, and Chelsea eyed her approvingly. Chelsea wondered why Madison wasn't even going to say hello, but she introduced her to Naomi, who wanted to know how they knew each other. “We don't,” Madison replied matter-of-factly.
Chelsea clarified that they had met the previous day, and their bumping into each other again must mean that the universe was sending them a signal. Madison couldn't get out of the establishment fast enough, confusing Naomi. Based on Chelsea's description of meeting Madison, and Madison's current behavior, lawyer Naomi reported having gotten bad vibes from her, while Chelsea was at least glad that Madison had said goodbye before ditching her this time. Chelsea was still intrigued; Naomi thought her sis could do better. The debate was interrupted by a phone call from Derek, who alerted Naomi that Bill was in the hospital.
Ashley updated the Hamilton sisters about Bill's condition, stressing that it was too early to know much in the way of details. While Doug was unavailable, Bill would be seen by a Dr. Montgomery...who turned out to be Madison! Bill still couldn't put a sentence together; Madison ordered a stroke protocol for him, which sobered Hayley.
Over at the casino, Joey and Vanessa dropped euphemisms about their wild night of lovemaking and decided that though they could barely walk afterwards, it had been worth it. Vanessa appreciated Joey's compliments, but sensed he was distracted; Joey admitted they were about to receive a visit...from Doug. Vanessa was perplexed, and when Doug arrived, Joey announced that they were old gambling buddies. Mrs. McBride had had no idea that Mr. McBride gambled, and Joey expounded by spilling that Doug owed him $250,000.
Vanessa was taken aback and outraged at the idea of writing a check to cover that amount. Doug sheepishly said he wasn't asking for a loan; Vanessa realized Joey wanted to use her real estate business as a money laundering front. When Doug desperately tried to explain that he had wanted to protect Vanessa from his problems with Joey, Vanessa chastised Doug for not coming to her first. Joey pooh-poohed the bad reputation money laundering had and stated it was simply a matter of swapping Joey's cash for Vanessa's.
She scoffed at Joey's proposal of “financial choreography,” which she knew could land her in federal prison. “I can't believe this is my life right now,” she commented, tight-lipped as she could barely contain her anger at the men. After Joey snarked that he knew Vanessa liked to take walks on the wild side, Doug bolted up and said he couldn't take it anymore. He hoped to see Vanessa at home and left her to finish the conversation with Joey.
“How dare you!” Vanessa yelled at Armstrong. She was less upset over Doug and his gambling debt than she was with Joey for making her believe he cared about her. Joey asserted that he did, but Vanessa admitted that what they'd had wasn't just sex to her – she had felt something, unlike with any of the other men she had fooled around on Doug with. In fact, it was the first time her emotions had come into play since Doug. “You manipulative bastard,” Vanessa hissed. Joey told Vanessa it was her move; she hauled off and slapped him before storming out. Joey smirked.
