Here's what went down Friday, June 13, 2025 on Beyond the Gates, when Andre got caught, Tomás got a warning, and Hayley turned to multimedia to inspire the grumpy Bill.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Ashley told Andre that she got a text from Derek, who had changed his plans for her. She worried that Derek wanted to “talk.” Andre wondered if Ashley was overthinking; Ashley predicted that Derek wanted to be in public so they couldn't argue loudly. Ashley was sure they'd be having their final meal together and couldn't be convinced that Derek wasn't going to break up with her. Meanwhile, at Orphey Gene's, Naomi noted Derek's confident silence and asked him, “Are you sure that you want to do this?” Derek told his friend that it was time to “end the suffering” – which he should have done a long time ago. Naomi wished Derek luck.
Derek waited for Ashley at Uptown; she deemed Derek standing up for her “weird” and, near tears, stiffly took a seat next to him. “If you wanted to break up with me, you could have done it for a lot cheaper and without all the fuss,” Ashley blurted out. “We're breaking up?” Derek asked, confused. The firefighter let Ashley know he had brought her to her favorite place because there was “nothing too good for the future Mrs. Baldwin.” Ashley looked ready to faint.
Backtracking, Derek revealed that he had rehearsed a whole spiel and that he had even cut himself shaving, thinking it up. Ashley, still unsteady, thought Derek was great; together, they agreed that they had both made mistakes while living together, but Derek wanted to go forth in his journey with her at his side. He noted how his life had only been about work before her, and he hoped she'd let him spend the rest of that life showing her how much she meant to him.
“Derek, please don't,” Ashley said as Derek got on one knee and presented a ring box. She seemed to be on the verge of both laughing and crying as he declared she had shown him what love was and formally asked, “Will you marry me?” Ashley wore an ambivalent expression.
Tomás helped Chelsea and Kat move things into Dani's guest house. The cousins talked about their new living situation; Kat coyly eyed Tomás and said that whatever did or didn't happen in her room would stay private. Dani rushed in after having had a pedicure; Tomás caught her when she nearly took a header. Chelsea and Kat had to remind Dani that she had met Tomás at Kat's birthday party – and that he worked for Bill. “Ah, well, nobody's perfect,” Dani sassed.
Dani offered Tomás a spot as a model, but Kat and Tomás each insisted he was happy where he was at the law firm. Tomás excused himself and shared a tender kiss with Kat, after which Dani wanted to be sure Tomás could be trusted. After Dani promised that Tomás would answer to her if he did Kat wrong, she and her daughter and niece discussed the girls living there – and Dani refused to charge them rent. All Dani wanted was the framed blow-up of her magazine cover with Chelsea, which would be the first thing people in her modeling agency saw when they walked in.
Chelsea insisted on keeping it, since the woman beside her in the photo had taught her everything and was now letting her grow on her own. Later, Dani finished helping the girls with loading their wardrobe, but she didn't take the hints that they wanted to take it from there – Dani bombarded them with decorating ideas. Ms. Dupree saw Kat and Chelsea's expressions and caught herself, though Chelsea was still happy with the idea of just having to go to the main house to get Dani's input on the business. Dani joined Chelsea and Kat in taking a “before” picture of the guest accommodations for Chelsea's social media feed.
After redecorating was through, Chelsea beamed that her “Chelsters” would “gag” over the décor. She and Kat thanked Dani for her input, after which Dani left to visit Bill. Kat and Chelsea high-fived each other, then Chelsea got on a flirtatious call with Madison, who admitted that her skirt and blouse were designer, based on her own love for fashion. Madison intuited that Chelsea was hungry from spending her day moving, and they arranged to meet once Madison's shift ended. Kat watched Chelsea hang up and joked that Chelsea wanted to see what was under Madison's lab coat.
Chelsea replied that she and Madison had just met, but asked Kat if she had sensed the same spark that she had. Kat labeled Madison the total package, while Chelsea coyly admitted she had almost stolen away to give Kat some private time with Tomás while he was there. “Power couples in the making!” Kat declared as the cousins high-fived again. Kat needed to leave to see Jacob, but advised Chelsea to hang a scarf on the door as a signal in case she started playing doctor with the doctor. Their giggling was interrupted by Andre, who burst in yelling, “Yo, Dani! Show yourself, woman!”
Andre fumbled through explaining to Chelsea and Kat that he had simply been in the neighborhood. Kat wondered how Andre had even gotten onto the property, and Chelsea wondered if Andre had anything to share – which he could, because they “were all fam.” Andre sheepishly reminded the girls that he was related to Ted, not the Duprees, which made Kat teasingly ask if Andre wanted them to pass on a message from him to Dani. Andre couldn't get out of the guest house fast enough; Kat and Chelsea cracked up after he left. “Your mom and Andre? Really?” Kat squealed. Chelsea shrugged.
At the hospital, Bill griped about his latest round of exercises; Madison ranked his progress as “not bad.” When Bill promised to find a loophole that would get him released faster, Madison pointed out that taking shortcuts wouldn't bring him to full recovery any faster. Hayley assured Madison that she had a plan to inspire the motivation Bill was lacking. When Madison left, Hayley quieted Bill's continuing complaints by dimming the lights...and presenting a slideshow on the wall of pivotal points in their relationship.
Bill was stunned when one of the images turned out to be Hayley's first ultrasound of their baby. Hayley took it further with mock-ups of them in the future with their children – meant to drive home that Bill would be around for a long time to come...as long as he followed doctor's orders and took his physical therapy seriously. Bill thanked Hayley for staying by his side throughout, though she flipped to a photo of herself in lingerie to rally him further.
As the Hamiltons cuddled in Bill's hospital bed, Bill admitted that the “future” he'd seen was one that he wanted to be a part of. Hayley understood that, for a mover like Bill, being stuck in the hospital was a fate worse than death. There was a knock at the door, and it was Tomás, who had snuck in files of cases that needed working on. Hayley slyly said she wasn't sure Bill was up to the task, but Bill perked up and dared Tomás, “I'll show you who's still got it.” Hayley stood back, smiling.
Dani ran into Tomás in front of the nurses' station and thanked him for keeping her niece so happy. Tomás said Dani would have to ask Kat if she fit that description, but emphatically said he liked Kat very much. Dani turned serious and told him that if he cheated or otherwise made Kat unhappy, he'd have to consider employment in another hemisphere. Then, Dani barged into Bill's hospital room only to find him and Hayley snoozing under the covers. “Oh. You two weren't getting busy, were you?” The Hamiltons gave Dani a look.
After Dani clicked on the lights, she saw Bill's case files and deemed it good that Bill was defying doctor's orders and getting some of his work done. When she reported that she had news about Chelsea, Hayley encouraged revealing it, knowing that Bill loved his daughters. Dani went into a rambling verbal onslaught about Chelsea moving into the guest house with Kat in part to be near her – Hayley did her best to not look annoyed while Bill seemed amused.
Vernon met Martin at the country club and showed him a clip of The Articulettes rehearsing their hit “On My Mind, In My Heart.” As Martin remarked that his grandmother looked 30 years younger, the mysterious wait staffer who had been following the congressman entered the banquet room. Vernon kept waxing poetic about Anita; Martin finally stopped him and confessed that there was an image he couldn't get out of his head.
Martin shocked Vernon by telling him the “visions” weren't just increasingly lucid dreams anymore – he was having them in the form of hallucinatory daydreams, one of which had made him blank out earlier that day while talking to an employee. Vernon was dismayed to hear that Martin was still hearing the voice asking him, “What color's your money?” Martin had been sure that his dreams would stop after he abandoned his presidential aspirations, but instead, they were getting worse. Vernon's jaw dropped when Martin reported that he had spoken to Nicole about them. “Do you have any idea what you've done?” the former senator whispered.
Vernon was aghast that Martin had confided in anyone else but him. Martin was freaked out about the possibility of getting caught up in “this” – he and Smitty had teenagers! He assured his grandfather that he had been vague in describing the dreams to Nicole and that he had no intention of following up with the therapists she had recommended. Vernon sternly reminded Martin that they had only come as far as they had in keeping a lid on things because they hadn't made ill-advised mistakes. As Martin hissed that he wasn't sure how much more he could take, the stranger (whose name tag now read “Kenneth” instead of “Blake”) hovered nearby.
The patriarch hoped he hadn't made things worse for Martin, who asserted that they would tough out the situation. Martin regretted how much he had put his grandparents through; Vernon just wanted to be sure Martin was all right. Vernon maintained that everything would be fine if Martin stayed the course and kept things status quo. After Vernon moved to another room to get a better signal for his incoming call from Anita, Martin was left alone – until “Kenneth” snuck up from behind, leaned down toward Martin's ear, and said, “Let's see what color's your money.” Martin's eyes opened wide.
