What happened on Beyond the Gates
On Beyond the Gates, Sharon thought Anita had partnered with Dante Green, The Articulettes' manager, to spread rumors that Sharon had been on pills and booze so that Anita could emerge as the star of the group. After Sharon refused to budge in her resentment, Anita privately read a letter written to her from a fourth member of the group, Barbara, who had killed herself after Dante pushed her out, and Anita didn't back her up. When Anita decided not to do the reunion show, Vernon interceded with Tracy, and Sharon was angry that Anita was thwarting her plan to use her to reboot her own career. Anita felt she had taken enough flak from Tracy and especially Sharon, and told them she was done letting them paint her as the villain in the act's breakup.
Jacob brought in a digital forensic specialist who was able to determine that the woman in the hospital's security footage was the same height as Leslie – and that the motorcycle jacket seen in the coverage of Laura's sideswipe was the same jacket that Kat claimed was Leslie's. Leslie discovered that her telltale helmet and gloves were missing; Eva crowed that she had hidden them and that Leslie now needed to step carefully with her.
Kat continued to be frustrated by what she felt was the slow pace of Jacob's case; her annoyance mounted when Leslie threatened to sue her, and Tomás said there wasn't enough evidence to make charges against Leslie stick. Leslie learned about the clip Andre had of her and had him show her – yet he snapped a spontaneous photo of her to compare against it. Jacob obtained a search warrant but found nothing at Leslie's place; Leslie privately promised vengeance against the police department.
After Kat got into Eva's hotel room, she had to hide under the bed when Eva entered with Tomás. Eva tried to kiss Tomás, but he just wanted to be friends, citing his heart being with Kat; Kat was delighted by his statement, and by the fact that she found Leslie's gloves and helmet next to her beneath Eva's mattress. Leslie demanded that Ted get the police to back off from her.
Martin made peace with Ted, and Ted determined that Eva had gone along with Leslie's revenge scheme because she was afraid of Leslie; Eva and Ted each warned the other to be careful around her. Nicole was irked that her loved ones seemed to be softening about Ted; she softened herself when she ran into her estranged husband, but Leslie inadvertently ruined the moment.
Laura came back to work at Nicole's and got an update on the investigation into her “accident.” After Laura had trouble navigating the changes Eva had made to Nicole's computer system, she called a willing Eva for help. Andre learned that Ashley had reunited with Derek and went to Dani, who was torqued that he had been ignoring her. After Dani ranted about Hayley's pregnancy, Andre said he was tired of Dani obsessing over Bill and that he was changing; the longtime playboy was feeling the urge to settle down. Dani still couldn't give Andre the relationship he was looking for.
Chelsea became enamored of Madison, an evasive, unresponsive woman who bailed on Chelsea the first chance she got. Naomi was surprised to hear that Chelsea wanted to pursue relationships with women; when she met Madison, she told Chelsea she didn't like the vibe she was getting from her. Vanessa got a double shock when she learned Doug had been gambling and that Joey wanted to use her real estate business for money laundering in exchange for settling Doug's $250,000 debt. Vanessa, furious because she had developed feelings for Joey, slapped him.

Hayley presented a pregnancy test to Dani, who wanted her to take a fresh one right in front of her. During an argument between Naomi and Hayley, Bill became unable to speak and was rushed to the hospital – Bill had suffered a mini-stroke, but refused to stay overnight for observation; it took Dani to convince Bill to take better care of himself. While getting romantic with Hayley, Bill fell limp – and his new doctor turned out to be Madison.
