Here's what went down Thursday, May 29, 2025 on Beyond the Gates when Hayley gamed Dani, Mona chose integrity over revenge, and the hot water in Ted's hotel room wasn't just for coffee.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Kat met Jacob at Orphey Gene's, telling the detective that they were taking too long to find out if Leslie had been the mystery nurse on staff the night Laura's heart-attack inducing potassium level spiked. Kat was also hot to prove that Eva was in on Leslie's attacks against Laura. Kat produced a security footage still of Leslie (in her guise as “Lulu”; Andre had obtained the tapes for potential use in his documentary) sneaking into Laura's room. Jacob listened to Kat's desire to have Mona confirm the staffer was her ex-friend, but insisted the image had to be verified to determine that it wasn't manipulated in any way. Frustrated with Kat for not heeding his advice to keep her nose out of the case, Jacob reported that he had checked “Lulu” out at her supposed previous hospital of employ...where no one had heard of her.
Mona couldn't be completely sure the unidentified nurse in the capture was actually Leslie. Kat excused herself to visit Ted and explained to Mona that, while Ted wasn't perfect, she wasn't going to abandon her father. Mona conveyed pride in Kat for working to hold Laura's attacker accountable and hung back after Kat departed to talk to Jacob about her mistrust of the lying Leslie. After Mona detailed how Leslie had befriended her and Jan just to get intel on the Richardsons, and confessed that she couldn't simply say Leslie was in the photo because Mona hoped it was her, Jacob let Mona know he appreciated her honesty – and that she might be hearing from him again as long as the investigation was open.
Ted smiled to see a friendly text from Kat, who was on her way to his hotel room with snacks. But a newly-redheaded Leslie arrived at his door. Ted grudgingly let Leslie in when she threatened to make a scene, which Leslie said could get him and Eva evicted from their rooms. After engaging in flirtatious small talk, Leslie thanked Ted for getting Eva her gig at the salon. Leslie made herself comfortable and coughed, saying she needed a drink, but she finally shared that she was worried about Eva. Leslie lied that Eva had asked if she and Ted were ever getting back together.
Dr. Richardson questioned if Eva had really made that query, but told Leslie that even if Eva had, the answer would be no. Leslie asked if there had ever been anything real between them; Ted wouldn't even entertain answering. Leslie proposed that they at least form a united front and take on the task of parenting their daughter. Ted agreed that Eva would benefit from guidance, but didn't think Eva would learn anything useful from Leslie's example of goal setting. Cowed, Leslie granted that she deserved Ted's harsh feelings toward her...the way Ted deserved Nicole's harsh feelings about him.
Ted concurred with Leslie that punishing her wouldn't make things better with his kids or grandkids. Leslie wanted them to attempt forgiving each other, for Eva's sake, and told him how she had married Alan after leaving town because he was safe. However, Leslie had still been afraid that Bill would find her and take Eva, whose loneliness over Alan ignoring her caused her to fantasize about a phantom father. When Leslie again requested to know if she'd misinterpreted Ted's long-ago affection for her, he was genuine in communicating contriteness for giving Leslie false hope.
Leslie balked at Ted's claim that Nicole had his heart, since Ted was still living in a hotel after Nicole's rejection. Ted was adamant that Nicole had done nothing wrong, as he and Leslie had hurt her badly. After Leslie repeated Ted's one-time words of devotion back to him, Ted wanted Leslie out; Leslie was at least grateful that Ted was resolute about building a relationship with their daughter. She reached up to cup his face, but as he grabbed her arm to stop her, Kat entered, saw their touch, and dropped her jaw.
Ted denied everything when Leslie suddenly made a fuss about him wanting her so soon after Nicole. Leslie sauntered out, quietly calling Kat a brat as she passed her. Kat knew Leslie had been playing a game, but was still perturbed that Ted had even been spending time with Leslie in the first place. Fuming, Kat called her father naïve and proposed that, on some level, he wanted to be with Leslie. Ted was gutted when Kat abandoned him and sneered that he could still catch Leslie if he hurried.
Leslie returned to her apartment, posing in front of her mirror and crowning herself a rock star for causing so much chaos for Ted and his extended family. She fell onto her couch and kicked her legs vigorously, declaring herself victorious.
From Uptown, Joey called Doug, who questioned not only Joey's generosity in not pressing to be paid, but Joey's interest in Vanessa after repeatedly seeing them together. Doug wondered if Joey was going to take Vanessa from him if he didn't settle his debt; Joey neither confirmed nor denied, and ended the phone chat to greet the arriving Vanessa.
Joey and Vanessa flirted as always, with Joey saying he found other ways to get exercise besides working out. Vanessa accepted his invitation to gamble at his casino, grinning that she liked to try her luck. Once they arrived at the establishment, Vanessa confessed that Joey would have to explain five-card stud to her...while Doug, who had followed them there, watched. After Vanessa hit it big, she wryly asked if Joey had rigged the table for her. He replied he would never bet against the house, but when Vanessa intimated that the poker table could be used for another purpose besides gambling, Joey ejected the other players and the dealer, instructing the man to lock the door behind him.
Vanessa and Joey, who had clicked on atmospheric lighting, danced closely, but soon Joey cleared the table, and the two finally gave in to their passion, kissing hotly as they disrobed each other.
Dani stiffly congratulated Hayley on her pregnancy. Ms. Dupree recalled that Bill had always had a soft spot for babies, “and now he'll have two in his house at the same time.” When Dani implied that Hayley was faking being pregnant and scoffed that Hayley had played Bill like a violin, Hayley cracked that perhaps their child could play Dani a swan song on the instrument. Dani was surprised to learn that Hayley knew what a Stradivarius was; Hayley remarked that she had received higher education in law and had learned more than doing vapid three-point turns, which Dani had executed as a model. Hayley countered that Dani couldn't handle the truth of her being pregnant and that Dani was jealous of an unborn child.
Hayley told Dani that if she kept getting up in her face, insinuating she wasn't actually carrying Bill's baby, Hayley would make sure Dani regretted crossing her. Dani deemed Hayley desperate, asking, “Are you threatening me?” “No,” Bill answered as he approached his former and current wives. “I am.” Dani rolled her eyes and presumed that Bill must miss her if he wanted to embroil her in another one of his legal dramas. Bill was incredulous when Dani directly accused Hayley of pretending to be pregnant to get her “low-class, but well-manicured claws” deeper into him.
After Bill expressed his disgust over Dani's jealousy, Hayley said Dani was right. She had been faking! Dani had caught on to her nefarious plot! Bill smirked when he realized Hayley was mocking Dani; Hayley jeered that Dani spent an awful lot of time thinking about her. Bill stepped in to defend Hayley, but she wanted to fight her own battle and ordered Dani to leave. Dani predicted that, once she exited, Hayley would dissolve into tears and reinforced that she only said she wasn't pregnant to tweak her. “But I know what I know,” Dani scowled. Hayley, in fact, did cry with Dani gone.
Dani charged into Uptown; even though they were closed, Dani used her name to get the bartender to make her a vodka sour anyway. She looked at baby photos of her daughters on her phone and heard Bill's and Hayley's taunts in her head – Dani was into her second drink when an equally dejected Doug arrived. Dani ordered a cocktail for him, and they toasted to feeling bad.
Later, Hayley assured Bill that she was indeed pregnant; Bill chuckled that Hayley punking Dani made Hayley more of a strategist than he was. Hayley was tired of taking the high road with Dani, and Bill let Hayley know that he loved her and believed her. Bill suggested they move, but Hayley didn't want to give Dani the satisfaction of knowing she'd run the Hamiltons out of Fairmont Crest. Bill wondered how Hayley's pregnancy would affect their ability to make love – Hayley informed her husband that a woman often became even more sexually aroused while expecting. Bill liked the idea, and Hayley, having heard that lovemaking is helpful to gestation, mounted Bill excitedly.
