Here's what went down Monday, August 11, 2025 on Beyond the Gates when Ashley took a solo flight, Hayley left Dani's apology in the box, and Winter(s) came to Fairmont Crest via The Young and the Restless.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Dani woke up at Andre's apartment, finding that he had spent the night on his couch. When Dani intuited that Andre was more than friends with Ashley, he clarified that it wasn't just about the nurse – he'd had a “come to Jesus” moment, which had him realizing he was ready to settle down. Andre said it was possible he might be doing so with Ashley...since it likely wasn't going to be with Dani. Ms. Dupree admitted he was right about that.
Dani picked up that Andre had called her over to talk about Ashley, only to drop the topic so he could help Dani through “yet another crisis.” She said that she would miss Andre's talent for steering her through her spirals more than she would their “electrifying” sex. Andre was sure that Ashley wouldn't have a problem with him continuing to offer Dani support, but Dani knew that Andre had no experience with serious relationships. Andre insisted that he and Ashley had a connection despite Dani's doubts; Dani expressed a sincere wish that things would work out for the burgeoning couple...then smirked that the sincerity had only come from manners. Changing the subject, Dani noted that it was time for her to face the music with Bill and Hayley.
Derek thanked Jacob for getting him into the Fairmont Crest Country Club gym to work out. Jacob was concerned that Derek had pushed himself too hard getting ready for the following day's triathlon and thought Derek should contact Ashley. Derek refused, letting his friend know that the relationship was truly over...because she wanted Andre. Now, Derek said, it was time to move on.
Ashley laughed when Shanice said she wasn't the type to get in people's business – but Shanice wanted to let Ashley know that she had seen Andre with a date at the Articulettes concert. Ms. Morgan flashed back to going to Andre's apartment to tell him she had chosen him, only to find him kissing Dani. “I know there's no way you're puttin' up with that type of nonsense,” Shanice said after Ashley reported she already knew about Dani's involvement with Andre; Shanice was glad to know Ashley and Andre weren't a couple, then.
Jan arrived with a peace offering of cookies, understanding that Ashley was upset with her for sending Derek to her on a reconciliation mission. Ashley pointed out that the situation had been none of Jan's business; Jan apologized and acknowledged that she had been working off the memory of how happy Ashley had been with Derek. Jan promised not to interfere further and hoped that Andre was everything Ashley had said he was. Ashley notified her mom that she would not be pursuing things with Andre, despite the daydreams she had shared with her before – the caregiver thought it best that she take a break from men instead of looking to them for fulfillment.
Mrs. Morgan advocated that women needed to be able to count on themselves first. Later, Andre came to the nurses' station with a gift for Ashley. Shanice watched as Andre proclaimed that Ashley could keep the token no matter what she decided about the two of them – it was a framed copy of the photograph Ashley had admired from his personal collection. Ashley balked when Andre announced that he had broken things off with his “other woman” because he had wanted something honest. She said that she hoped Andre would find that with someone someday – it just wasn't going to be with her.
Andre was surprised to hear that Ashley didn't want to date him. Ashley sputtered that it was a matter of trust but wouldn't expound beyond saying that they had different value systems. Andre reinforced that he had become willing to renounce being a playboy, yet Ashley just thanked him for helping her open her eyes to other ways of living. Ashley gave the photo back; Andre wanted her to keep it, though he was disappointed that what little they'd had had only been “another transitional relationship.” The stunned shutterbug did his best to make a graceful exit.
Vernon tried to sneak out of the Dupree manse but gave himself away, knocking over Martin's water bottle. Anita wondered where her husband was off to without a goodbye; he was on his way to Banneker College at the University of Maryland to prepare his syllabus for the new semester, which had gotten delayed because of all the drama involving Martin. Nicole entered, having just taken a walk with Martin, to check on her parents. Vernon seemed to take the interruption as an opportunity to facilitate a quick exit. Anita remarked that Vernon had been evasive about his plans that day, prompting Nicole to grin that it wasn't like the senator was stepping out on the singer.
Nicole raved about the Articulettes concert, with Anita smiling that performing again had been a thrill. La Dupree hoped that the audience had been as moved by the tribute to Barbara as she had been; Nicole was certain they had been. Symbolically inviting the founding member on stage had been transformative for Anita, who had finally been able to forgive herself for her actions that had led to the breakup of the group. “Self-forgiveness matters more than most people realize,” the shrink Nicole offered.
Nicole sympathized with Anita having to wait decades to make things right after allowing Barbara to be expelled from the group. Anita disclosed that she had set up a blind trust for Barbara and her family to secretly provide them the money Barbara would have earned had she not been sidelined. Nicole was moved that Anita had even donated her proceeds from the concert to the trust.
At the Hamilton home, Bill came downstairs to find Hayley sitting with Randy. Hayley introduced Randy as “Sammy”; Bill was grateful that “Sammy” had been able to take his wife to the hospital while she was suffering her miscarriage. “Sammy” reported that he'd come by to return Hayley's phone and purse, which had gotten left behind; after he expressed his condolences about the baby and departed, Hayley shared with Bill that she was deeply sad about their loss. Bill carried Hayley to bed when her only desire was to go back to sleep.
When Dani arrived, Bill warned her he was too drained to fight with her. Dani assured him she had only come to say how sorry she was about the miscarriage – and for continually accusing Hayley of faking her pregnancy. Bill didn't know why Dani would blame herself for the outcome until she confessed to the argument she and Hayley had been having before Hayley started bleeding. Dani listened as Bill described how Hayley had tripped first, surmising that they might never know exactly what caused Hayley's body to reject the fetus. Bill held the ultrasound capture Hayley had given him and noted that they were supposed to be at the doctor's that moment, having a second procedure. Dani put her hand on his.
Bill revealed that he had never given more children another thought, not with already having two grown daughters – but when Hayley had had the false alarm of thinking she was pregnant, it had awakened something in him. The attorney regretted not having been very hands-on in raising Naomi and Chelsea because he had been buried in his business; Dani recalled that Bill had been a great father compared to his own. Bill became emotional as he declared he had considered Hayley's baby a chance to get fatherhood right. Dani gently stroked Bill's back...which the awake Hayley saw when she entered the living room.
Hayley only coyly recognized that Dani had come to convey her sympathies, but Dani clarified that she had also stopped by to apologize. Dani saw how hurtful she had been in telling anyone who would listen that Hayley wasn't actually pregnant; Hayley responded by grousing that Dani once again got to go on with a clean slate while those in her wake were left to pick up the pieces. After Dani offered another mea culpa and left, Bill could tell that Hayley was rattled by Dani's visit, despite her denials. Hayley privately seethed when Bill stepped into the kitchen to fetch her some tea.
Bill returned; Hayley understood why the aching Bill would want to talk to someone about his loss, though she wished it hadn't been Dani. Bill remembered that Hayley had mentioned feeling threatened by his ex and assured her they had only been reminiscing about when Chelsea and Naomi were young. Hayley had wanted them to be able to share those kinds of memories; Bill was sure they would eventually. However, Hayley didn't know when or if it would be safe for her to carry a child again. Bill left that timeline up to Hayley and nixed her suggestion to withdraw the money he had placed in a college fund for the baby they had been expecting...since he strongly felt there would be another one.
A sullen Dani loped into the Dupree mansion, labeling herself pathetic. Nicole was shocked to hear Dani saying that Nicole shouldn't love her and encouraged her sister to tell her everything. Dani went over the split with Andre, and Nicole sensed that Dani hadn't been able to invest in their relationship because of her lingering feelings for Bill, which Dani berated herself over. When Dani passed along news of Hayley's miscarriage, Nicole identified with the Hamiltons, since she had experienced several of her own.
Dani explained how unusually candid Bill had been about being absent in their marriage and their family; Nicole gleaned that Dani had caught a glimpse of the man she had fallen in love with. “The man I still love,” Dani ruefully admitted.
Vernon joined Anita at the country club, excited to be meeting with someone they hadn't seen in years. In walked Devon Winters, visiting from Genoa City, Wisconsin; Devon remembered how nervous he had been when he'd been introduced to the Duprees at that town's club, Indigo. Anita thought back on how she had refused to take the stage there – but only because she hadn't wanted to bump the talent already scheduled. The trio spoke of Devon's deceased father, Neil Winters, commemorating him fondly.
Devon and Anita shared general news of their families – then Anita commented that Devon's call had been both “intriguing and cryptic.” Mr. Winters had come to D.C. to present a “mindblowing proposition”: having seen the live stream of the Articulettes' reunion show, music promoter Devon wanted Anita to record for his Winter's Mood jazz label, giving her complete creative control to boot.
Anita was flattered but wanted to put her family first, even after Vernon encouraged her to think about the recording contract. Mrs. Dupree had another idea – Devon could sign Tracy and Sharon, and if they wanted to have Anita feature on some tracks, she would be all right with that. Now Devon was intrigued, but Anita went one step further – she wanted to re-release an Articulettes single and add Barbara's vocals back into the mix from their old demo tapes. Devon was ready to move on the idea while there was still so much buzz around the concert.
Devon ran into Dani on the way out, hoping she could convince her mom to take the contract. Dani smiled that Anita Dupree could not be swayed once she made a decision. She observed Devon approvingly as he exited.
