Beyond the Gates Recap for Monday, March 3, 2025: Dani's gun-toting goes viral

Dani
Dani's gunplay put the entire Dupree clan under fire on Beyond the Gates

On the March 3, 2025 episode of Beyond the Gates:

On Beyond the Gates, Bill and Hayley's wedding guests were shocked when Dani shot at the bride and groom. However, Dani had only destroyed a flower arrangement. Anita demanded that “Danielle” put the gun away while police detective Jacob told Dani to let everyone go. Aiming the gun squarely at the not-so-happy couple, Dani assured Jacob that she had no issue with anyone else, so Jacob ushered the Fairmont Crest Country Club members out while the Duprees and Bill's co-workers stayed behind.

Dani declared the first bullet a warning shot and wondered who she should put the second one in – the lying ex-husband or the woman who would stop by for dinner but wasn't satisfied until she took Dani's man from her bed. Bill tried to talk Dani down and asked what she wanted. “Everything you took from me!” Dani yelled. Dani cried that she had given up her career to give Bill a home and children, and had tried to become every other woman that Bill had wanted. It was Dani's family, the Duprees, who had financed Bill's “meteoric rise.” Jacob attempted to jump into officer mode and stop Dani, but Naomi prevented it. “It's my mother,” Naomi implored.

Vernon wanted Dani to relinquish her weapon, but Dani refused, saying that there had been too many secrets – “like this one,” she emphasized, training the firearm on Hayley. Tired of being referred to with slurs, Hayley defiantly announced that she was Hayley Hamilton, but Dani replied that until Hayley was officially declared so, Hayley didn't get to have the same last name as Dani's children. Concluding that no one would tell Hayley what they thought of her should she indeed end up being Mrs. Hamilton, Dani revealed that she had more truth to break off about the interloping Hayley. When Vernon again exhorted Dani to put down her gun, Dani said she would...after Hayley and Bill were done begging. Dani ordered Hayley to get down on her knees...to plead for Dani's forgiveness.

Bill stood firm that Hayley wouldn't be getting on her knees for anyone. Dani was surprised to see the chivalry he had once shown her and suggested that Bill kneel instead. Bill acquiesced but used the move to make a grab for Dani's gun. It went off, but no one was harmed, and Bill managed to get the weapon away from his ex-wife, which he willingly handed to Jacob. Bill cried that Dani could have killed somebody and demanded an apology, but Dani would only tell Bill that it would never be over between them – and that her shooting the flowers was a vast improvement over what she snarked were his “embarrassing funeral arrangements.” With that, Dani stormed out.

Martin asked Smitty to keep an eye on things while Martin did damage control; as a public figure, Martin didn't need the bad press. Martin confirmed from the wedding photographer that no pictures had been taken once Dani produced the gun. But Chelsea, who had been livestreaming her father's wedding, was horrified to learn she had dropped her phone after the gunplay began and that the entire chain of events had been transmitted to her one million followers.

As Naomi tried to find out what Jacob was going to do with Dani's gun, Bill asked him for a police escort out of the building for his guests. Naomi spat that Jacob didn't work for Bill, but Jacob complied. Bill then interrupted Anita and Vernon, who were discussing how they'd make Dani's gun debacle go away, and told them he'd send them an invoice for the damages.

While Derek waited for Ashley at Uptown, Ashley introduced herself as a nurse to the in-labor Alix in the stuck elevator. Alix hoped Andre was a doctor, but he sheepishly admitted he was only a photographer. Andre tried to call 911 but couldn't get a signal. As Alix gritted her teeth through another contraction, Ashley coached her to breathe and lie down while Andre looked freaked out. Ashley confidently guided Alix through her labor as Andre called out, hoping someone would hear his voice from the elevator. Back at Uptown, Derek had spent an hour leaving messages and texts for Ashley, tongue-in-cheek, wondering if Ashley's non-appearance was her way of getting him back for all the plans he'd had to cancel being a firefighter.

On the elevator floor, Alix was concerned that her level of pain meant something was wrong; when Andre heard that Alix had read all manner of birthing books, Andre assured her that she had filled her head with all kinds of worst-case scenarios and advised her to focus on the positive possibilities.

Ashley's supervisor gossiped about Dani on a phone call, opining that, if she had been Dani, she'd have broken some bones if her daughter's best friend had stolen her man. The woman moved on to sneering how Dani's sister, Nicole, had won another award, which the Duprees had won too many of; she also scoffed that “the nephew”, Andre, thought he was “God's gift.” Just as the lady started to dish about what Vanessa's husband, Doug McBride, had done, Derek arrived and asked into Ashley's whereabouts. The supervisor hung up and reported that Ashley had left with Andre and gotten on the elevator with him.

Inside the lift, Andre offered his hand for Alix to squeeze and joked that he would get the feeling back in it eventually. Ashley alerted Alix that she could see the baby's head and got Alix to do a final push to facilitate its delivery. Meanwhile, Ashley's superior was informed about the stuck elevator; as Derek sprung into action to save Ashley, the doors opened to reveal Ashley and Andre flanking Alix and her newborn. After being wheeled out, the happy Alix got photographer Andre to take a professional picture of her and the baby, then Alix asked if Andre and Ashley would pose with the infant for its baby book, which made Derek uneasy. Once Alix departed, Andre raved to Derek about how amazing Ashley had been, causing Derek to throw his arm around her...which made Andre uneasy.

Home at the Dupree mansion, Ted tried to comfort Nicole, who felt that, as a psychiatrist, she should have seen the signs that Dani would snap. While Vernon and Martin expressed the importance of coming together as Duprees, Anita dispassionately said their first order of business was finding “Danielle” – who herself had gone to Uptown, followed by Pamela, who felt bad that, as Dani's friend, she hadn't stopped Dani before things had spiraled. Pamela jokingly asked if Dani needed any tires slashed as Dani's phone wouldn't stop buzzing. Dani realized it was “time to face the Duprees” and left Pamela to have the martini she had ordered.

Jacob arrived at the Duprees' with Naomi and was suggesting that he dispatch a patrol car for the missing Dani when Dani showed up on her own. Multiple family members conveyed their worry for Dani, but the furious Anita gave Dani an intense dressing down. “The shame you have brought on this family!” Anita barked. The matriarch couldn't understand why Dani had gotten herself a gun, but Martin piped up that sometimes anger boiled over until one didn't have a choice, which worried Vernon. A humbled Dani agreed that Anita was right, but when Dani again brought up what Bill had done to her, Anita yelled that Dani was supposed to have risen above, not stooped to Bill's level. Vernon offering to talk to Bill enraged Anita even further; after Anita fumed that Vernon was now going to have to ask for the forgiveness of “that reprobate”, Dani left the living room in shame. Nicole followed.

“What did I do, Nicole?” Dani bemoaned. Dani recounted how, as a Dupree, she should have carried herself better. “Dignified, calm under pressure...they can see your blood and sweat, if necessary, but never your tears!” Nicole reminded Dani that reacting the way she had to Bill's repeated betrayals made Dani human; Nicole felt that Anita would get over what Dani did, but Dani wasn't so sure. She cried that she had tried to do the right thing by showing up to the wedding, “looking incredible, of course.” But Dani had lost it when Bill was about to make the same vows he had once made to her to “a younger, maybe better version of me.” Dani worried that Bill had destroyed her, but Nicole encouraged Dani, saying that Bill had only made Dani, “still as wild as a house afire,” stronger.

Jacob shared his regret with Naomi about not stepping in, but Naomi countered that what had taken place had been a private affair. Naomi urged Jacob to go home and let the family handle things. “Oh, so I'm not family?” the hurt Jacob asked. Naomi backtracked but stated that her husband was also a cop. Jacob began to say that what had happened was criminal, but Naomi called it justified and that her father and her backstabbing former friend had gotten the wedding day they deserved. After Jacob left, Martin noted that Jacob the cop hadn't looked very comfortable, but Naomi answered that Jacob wouldn't say anything to anyone. Vernon admitted he'd have felt better if they could have gotten Dani's gun back from Jacob, though he was glad no one had called 911.

Nicole tried and failed to get the obstinate Anita to apologize to Dani. Kat came in with Chelsea, who told the family how her live stream of Dani's actions at the wedding had gone viral. Dani told Chelsea it wasn't Chelsea's fault, it was hers; Anita huffed. Vernon decided they needed to get in front of the story with a press conference at the country club – the “scene of the crime” – and Anita demanded that Dani not attend. “Let's show them who we are,” Vernon prompted.

Ted approached Kat, who confessed that being a part of their family was sometimes hard, and worried what fate would befall Aunt Dani. Ted assured Kat that the Duprees take care of their own; like Vernon and Anita would do anything for their children, Ted would brave through hell for his.

Leslie and Eva gloated over the fact that Eva would now be working in her “father's house.” “My biological father,” Eva affirmed smugly. Leslie crowed that Ted Richardson thought he could erase Eva, and her, something Ted was now going to pay for. Eva learned from Leslie that Ted was nowhere to be found the day Eva was born. Leslie hadn't been surprised, as Ted had wanted nothing to do with her or her unborn child; he had taken off as soon as he learned that Leslie was pregnant. Because Nicole had had Ted wrapped around her finger, Ted had completely forgotten about Leslie, which pained Eva. Leslie wished that Ted could have stayed the way he'd been when they first met. Feeling bad for what Ted had done to Leslie, Eva smirked that now, working for Nicole, she was on the inside. “That is my baby,” Leslie praised. “Goal-oriented – just like her mama.”

Leslie momentarily wondered if she were feeding Eva to the lions, but Eva insisted that this opportunity they had planned was the perfect way for Eva to get close to Nicole and...Ted, Eva reminded herself to say before she derided Ted for not even paying Leslie child support. Leslie had deserved better, Eva stated, and they would make Ted suffer. Leslie countered that Eva had deserved love from her father and everything Ted's financial success would have provided. Instead, Ted's brats, “Princess Kat” and “fancy pants congressman,” had been the ones to benefit from Ted's wealth.

Leslie raged that when she and Leslie had seen Ted at the hospital while visiting Ashley, Ted had looked right through them. Leslie declared that their plan was now in motion, but they couldn't make mistakes – including Eva referring to Leslie as her mother in public. Eva reiterated their story that Leslie was a friend of Eva's “mom” who died when Eva was young; Eva had been raised by “surrogate mom” Leslie and an “Alan.” Leslie said that, since Ted had only ever known her by her first name, Dana, Ted wouldn't clue in to her identity. “Ted Richardson will curse the day he turned his back on us,” Leslie sneered.

When Eva felt bad that the injured Laura would be out of commission, yet considered it lucky that Laura happened to have a car accident, Leslie stayed mum. Instead, Leslie wanted to know what Nicole was like, and Eva confirmed that the shrink was as entitled as Leslie had said she would be. Eva couldn't wait until she and Leslie blew Nicole's “carefully curated” world apart.

At the country club, Hayley picked up a fallen rose from the destroyed-by-bullet arrangement and lamented that her wedding day was ruined. But Bill – and Caroline, Hayley's matron of honor – convinced Hayley to go ahead with the ceremony anyway, and Bill and Hayley were declared man and wife. Hayley stared at her ring as she vowed she had never been happier in her life.

Bill carried Hayley over the threshold of their new home at Fairmont Crest; Hayley gushed over Caroline's interior decorating, but Bill revealed that he had made the choices. Bill beamed that he was madly in love with the woman who had brought him back to life and went to pour them champagne. Bill's phone buzzed, and he hoped it wasn't a delay in their honeymoon flight to Italy, but then Bill's happy expression changed. He reported to Hayley that he had gotten a text from a friend at the Washington Post apprising him that there was about to be a press conference...one at which he had to make an appearance.
