Here's what went down Friday, October 17, 2025 on Beyond the Gates when Leslie thought Tina Turner was “simply the best,” Bill had babies on the brain, and Kat was into reboots.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Bill was happy that Hayley had invited his daughters over for his birthday party. As the tainted, uneaten cupcake Hayley had planned to inflict on Bill sat on its plate, Hayley noted to Bill that there had been a thaw between her and the Hamilton sisters, but wondered why Naomi had been in such a rush to leave. Bill thought that, when the discussion of him and Hayley trying again for a baby had come up, Naomi had remembered how devastated they had been over the miscarriage and was worried for them. The lawyer felt good about moving forward with the plans for children – then got a text that Ted's final decree had been delivered.
Later, Naomi dropped by, and Bill could tell something was bothering her because of her “tell.” Naomi claimed she'd had to meet a deadline for a client, but Bill asked into whether she was on board with him and Hayley attempting to conceive again. Naomi reminded Bill that it hadn't been that long since his stroke; Bill declared he felt fine, softening as he said that, while he didn't need Naomi's permission to enlarge his family, he wanted it. Naomi wondered why, since Bill always did what he wanted anyway.
Bill admitted that he wanted to correct the mistakes he had made with Naomi and Chelsea – he had always been too busy to be as present as he should have been for his girls, and he wanted to do right by a new child. He hoped that Chelsea and Naomi wouldn't end up resenting their little brother or sister for getting the attention Bill hadn't lavished on them. Naomi felt that Bill would have ended up resenting her and Chelsea had he not spent his time making a name for himself – though Naomi did point out that her relationship with Bill had improved once she'd stopped idolizing him.
Naomi said she had gotten her own drive from Bill, who was insistent that he hadn't built up his law firm just for himself – he had also done it for Dani and the girls. Bill was glad that Naomi and Jacob were taking their time before having kids of their own and hoped that, when the time came, no one would call him “grandpa,” since that was more appropriate for Vernon.
Bill discussed Dani's marriage to Andre with Naomi, who was surprised that Bill had tasked Keegan with trailing the photographer. Naomi didn't think Andre had anything to hide – though she did plan on getting Andre to sign a post-nup. When Naomi asked what Hayley thought about Bill meddling in Dani's marriage, Hayley arrived and sweetly said her mind was on anything else, adding that it was nice to have had family over for Bill's birthday. Naomi privately saw through Hayley's saccharine and predicted that Bill was on thin ice with her.
Nicole looked over the documents finalizing her divorce; Kat said that Nicole could still tear them up if she wanted to. The now ex-Mrs. Richardson conveyed that any chance there might have been for a reconciliation had died when Ted went to bed with Leslie again. Kat knew that Ted was still very much in love with Nicole and was of the opinion that his devotion should be more important than what he had done. She wanted her mother to talk to her father just to be absolutely sure the divorce was what she wanted. Nicole ignored the advice and shared her own for Kat to keep her eyes open with Tomás, whom Kat was seeing in favor of going to Smitty and Martin's vow renewal ceremony.
Leslie ran into Ted, who was sure Leslie would be doing a happy dance over him finally being divorced. Ted barely listened when Leslie said she wasn't happy – she was angry that Nicole had kept Ted hanging so long. Had Ted divorced Nicole during their original affair, Leslie opined, they could have experienced years of fun and love...and given Eva siblings. “What is wrong with you?” Ted balked, leaving Leslie in the hallway.
Eva waited for Leslie at the country club, texting to find out if she was still meeting her. Seeing Tomás at another table, Eva flashed back to him rejecting her for Kat. Meanwhile, Leslie called Tomás' law firm, reprising her alias of “Anna Bullock” and telling reception that she wouldn't be able to make her meeting with Mr. Navarro.
Tomás got the cancellation notice as Eva approached him. She said she didn't like the way they'd left things, prompting Tomás to acknowledge he'd been a jerk and that he should apologize every time he saw her. Eva wished Kat and Tomás well, but Tomás said Kat wasn't meeting with him; he had just been flaked on by a new client, Anna Bullock. Eva recognized the name as one of Leslie's favorite aliases – Anna Mae Bullock was the given name of Tina Turner, whom Leslie loved. When Tomás said that Leslie had also come to see him at his office, Eva realized that Leslie's latest project was to try to push Eva and Tomás together. Every time Eva thought Leslie was mellowing out, Leslie would break out her wigs for yet another caper.
When Tomás suggested that Eva derail Leslie by going out with someone else, Eva said she'd considered it – but was certain Leslie wouldn't buy it, since she was fixated on Eva being with Tomás. Later, Eva found “Anna,” telling her disguised mother that they no longer needed to resort to their old tactics – they were rich now, and the games made them look pathetic and desperate. “Anna” begged to differ and was certain Tomás now understood that she would do everything in her power to make sure he ended up with the right woman. Leslie gleefully reported that Ted was now a free man and that she was going to go see him so she could “help Daddy with his grief.” Eva sniffed that the Richardson divorce was a tragedy, not a victory.
Kat brought a blindfolded Tomás into the same hotel room in which he had surprised her with their previous date. Tomás loved that Kat had gone out of her way to stage the “do-over” and engaged her in some salsa dancing...until he decided he didn't want to relive the original night. It was on the very bed situated near that Kat had told him he wasn't a satisfying lover. Understanding that Tomás couldn't help associating the bed with that unfortunate moment, Kat took off her clothes and cooed that they could make love in the closet, or on any of the other surfaces in the room that wasn't the bed. “Ay, loquita” (“Oh, crazy girl”), Tomás replied, his breath heavy. “Ay Dios santo” (“Oh, my God”).
“We're gonna have a wedding!” Samantha exclaimed while Martin expressed his surprise that Smitty – with Tyrell's help – had set up the ceremony. Smitty just needed to know if Martin would accept his proposal; Martin did, and Smitty announced that guests were on their way. Martin was stunned to learn that they were “doing this right now” – but he was all right with going as fast or as slow as Smitty wanted to. Smitty lamented to Martin that he had created a lot of uncertainty which had stuck with the kids; he felt that reaffirming their marriage would be the best way to let them know that Martin wasn't going anywhere.
Nicole arrived, reporting that Kat would not be in attendance – nor would Anita and Vernon, who had made a quick trip to Chicago. After Nicole presented the grooms with wedding presents, Ted entered with champagne. While Martin, Smitty, and the kids were upstairs getting ready, Nicole thought neither she nor Ted should bring up the divorce papers on the Richardson-Smiths' happy day. Ted wasn't sad about the final decree – instead, he suggested that they follow their son's lead and have their own reunion, promising to wait for her. Nicole was beginning to tell Ted he'd be waiting until hell froze over when Tyrell came down needing help with his suit.
Not seeing an officiant, Nicole joked that at least an Anita impersonator hadn't been tasked with performing Martin's wedding like Dani's had. Smitty and Martin informed everyone that they would be informally renewing their vows. Martin quoted his namesake, Dr. Martin Luther King, emphasizing the importance of discovering the redemptive power of love. The congressman felt he hadn't been courageous enough before and promised to be the husband and father he should have been all along, supporting Smitty in his dreams. Smitty just wanted to move forward and avowed that, together, he and Martin could handle whatever the future brought them.
Both Ted and Nicole were visibly affected by the ceremony; Nicole became emotional and suddenly made a quick exit. After Ted left, the Richardson-Smiths went over how Nicole had obviously tried not to let her troubles invade their day, while Ted had undoubtedly tried to take advantage of the good tidings to make inroads. Tyrell and Samantha divulged that they had made plans out so that their dad and pop could be alone.
As Leslie made her way down the hallway of Ted's floor, no longer in her “Anna” guise, she spied Nicole knocking on Ted's door. Ted let his “beautiful Nicole” in and told her she belonged with him. As the exes hugged, Leslie yanked on the hotel's fire alarm to disrupt them.
