Here's what went down Friday, September 19, 2025 on Beyond the Gates when Nicole rejected the ties that bind, Dani played Pin the Tail on the Napkin, and Randy had Bill sized up.

On Beyond the Gates, Andre told Dani, at an airport bar, that he had good news and bad news. “Bill and Hayley are getting a divorce?” Dani slurred. Andre corrected that he had hired a private jet for them, but thunderstorms were going to delay their takeoff. Dani joked about Andre's “almost fling getting another man's ring,” then asked where she and Andre were even going. Andre wrote on two napkins and instructed Dani to pick one. She did, and it read “Vegas” – but when she insisted on seeing the other choice, it read the same.

Dani was enthusiastic about heading to Sin City because she wanted to misbehave. Andre listed off the things they could do there: gamble, overeat, get hitched...Dani wasn't sure she'd heard right but relished the idea of the scandal a posted wedding photo of them would cause. She asked Andre how they'd gotten to that point, and there were flashbacks ranging from their initial bed romp to Andre asking if there wasn't enough between them to get serious. Back in the present, Dani told Andre, “I thought I was the wild child” as they drunkenly stumbled to their waiting plane.

At the country club, Eva wanted to know what Leslie expected from Ted now that they'd slept together. Leslie warned Eva that she'd better be ready for details and told her daughter how explosive she and Ted still were. According to Leslie, Nicole couldn't give Ted what she could in ten million years. Eva reiterated that Ted wasn't holding out hope for Leslie; it was Nicole whom Ted wanted. Leslie was convinced that Ted had only said he didn't want her because he was expected to carry himself a certain way. Nicole didn't want anything to do with Ted, Leslie affirmed, so she could wait a little longer.

Eva found Leslie's viewpoint delusional and worried that Leslie's resultant anger over Ted's lack of feeling for her – and revenge as a result of it – would blow back on Eva. The former hairstylist was also concerned about Leslie patronizing the same establishment as the Duprees; Eva saw Vernon and Anita and wanted to take Leslie and leave. Leslie called Eva a chicken, imitating the fowl, and told her daughter to run along if she was that intimidated.

Anita was nauseated by Leslie's very presence, though she had to admit she was almost impressed by the way Leslie had done an end run around the family and gotten her house across the street. Talk turned to Nicole and how she was more apt to hide her feelings than the on-her-sleeve Dani; when Anita mentioned that she hadn't been able to reach Dani, Vernon considerately took his phone to the lobby to make some calls to locate her.

Leslie saw Anita alone and interrupted her viewing of ChelseaKat's latest video about the purse launch. After exchanging a few tense words with “Auntie Anita,” Leslie became more sincere and asked Anita to tell her about Barbara, her biological mother. At first, Anita told Leslie to “go screw yourself,” but Leslie displayed an unusual vulnerability, nearly begging Anita to discuss Barbara, as Leslie knew next to nothing about her. “Tell me anything...Anita, please,” Leslie said somberly.

Anita finally allowed that Barbara would have wanted Leslie to know that Barbara was smart, scrappy, and afraid of no one – which is why it had been a shock when Barbara had killed herself. Leslie listened, enraptured, as Anita described how she, Barbara, Sharon, and Tracy had all come from the Cabrini Green projects in Chicago, and that they would all sing together at any opportunity. Barbara had made matching dresses for them with her own two hands, and Anita granted that Leslie might have turned out to be “a half-decent human being” had she known her mother. In awe, Leslie said that Anita's tribute to Barbara at The Articulettes concert had been beautiful; the ordinarily feisty woman was nearly in tears as she thanked Anita for painting a picture of Barbara – and “for everything.” After Leslie left her table, Anita appeared moved – and also uncomfortable that she was.

Rejoining Vernon in the lobby, Anita told her husband that she had had “a moment” with Leslie – she had connected, but not with Leslie; with Barbara. Vernon reported that he had managed to reach Dani, who seemed to be on a plane and would only say she was on her way to Vegas with a friend. Anita wasn't worried, as she figured Dani was traveling with Pamela...but when Vernon brought up the prospect that Dani might be flying with someone else, Anita became a bit more concerned.

Eva visited Ted in his room and confessed that she'd been feeling like her father had taken advantage of her mother. Ted regretted his “weak moment”; he presumed that Leslie was still angry with him over it, but when Eva relayed how Leslie had become hopeful again, Ted replied with an “oh, no.” For Ted's part, he was still hopeful about Nicole and asked Eva if she could forgive him for sleeping with Leslie. Eva recalled how Ted had forgiven her, plus given her a place to stay and let her run his clinic. Plus, he was her dad. Eva excused herself from Ted, who stared plaintively at Nicole's divorce papers.

At Orphey Gene's, Doug told Randy how he had approached Bill in his quest to take Joey down, calling the lawyer his “ace in the hole.” Hearing that Doug had told Bill about both Joey and Vanessa's money laundering and Joey ordering an employee to commit murder, Randy exploded, “You didn't give him my name, did you?” Randy was mistrustful of Bill, but Doug assured his friend that he had known Bill since college, and he was certain that, while talking about Joey, Bill would have mentioned any connection to the casino owner. Doug was a bit rattled when Randy suggested that Bill could just as easily betray Doug with Joey.

At Uptown, Bill insisted upon speaking to Joey alone, but Vanessa refused to leave his side. When Bill noted that Mr. Armstrong and Mrs. McBride were in business together, Vanessa cracked, “We're cleaning up,” which made Joey laugh since it was a reference to their money laundering. Seeing that Bill wouldn't take no for an answer – and that Bill had figured out that her relationship with Joey went beyond the professional – Vanessa openly kissed Joey and took her leave.

Bill snarked to Joey that Vanessa's husband was “also a piece of work” – and freely conveyed that Doug had stopped by Bill's house to recruit him into helping take Joey down. Joey was unconcerned, though he conceded that Doug could do some actual harm by showing Vanessa's cooked books to the authorities. Bill wondered if Doug's contention that he still loved his wife – and she him – had just been lip service; since Doug had nothing to lose, maybe he would destroy Vanessa along with Joey.

Joey disagreed, intuiting that Doug's likely move would be to implicate him, but not Vanessa. Bill could tell that Joey truly cared about Vanessa, though Joey scoffed that Vanessa was merely good in bed. Joey didn't think there was anything that Doug could realistically do to him, and Bill told Joey that he was a far more valuable ally than Doug could ever be. Bill and Joey agreed that they'd never had the conversation, with Joey adding that he would find a way to deal with Doug.

Having been summoned by Nicole's text, Vanessa arrived at the Richardson home, where Nicole lamented to her best friend that Ted had slept with Leslie – or, at least, it had appeared so. Nicole showed Vanessa the tie which Leslie had brought her that belonged to Ted; Nicole recognized it because she had bought it for Ted and had had it monogrammed. Vanessa theorized that perhaps Leslie had used Eva to get access to the accessory, since Eva also lived in Ted's hotel. When Nicole was certain that Leslie had gotten into bed with Ted, Vanessa wondered why Nicole even cared, since she was divorcing him. Rather than sitting there speculating with her, Vanessa told Nicole, Nicole needed to get the truth straight from Ted.

Doug was still of the opinion that Bill wouldn't double cross him, but Randy was more skeptical, as Bill and Joey both spoke the same language – green. Randy decided to contact a confidential source to see “which way the wind was blowing” regarding Joey. In the meantime, Doug went to the country club to meet Vanessa and ran into Bill – but before Doug could get confirmation that he and Bill were on the same page about Armstrong, Vanessa arrived, casually commenting that she was seeing Bill for the second time that day. Bill corroborated their earlier interaction and departed – though when the McBrides each asked each other about their reasons for seeing Bill, they flat out lied to each other.

Leslie was at her apartment, annoyed when someone knocked on the door. It was Ted, who had brought his tie to give back to her; he promised he wasn't going to yell and made a move to bind Leslie's wrist with it. Leslie cooed that they were going to get kinky, like the old days – she wanted to do it all. Ted seductively replied, “Too bad this is all in your mind” – and Leslie woke up, very much alone.

In reality, Nicole went to Ted's hotel room and thrust his tie into his chest, announcing that she had gotten it from his old girlfriend, “Dana.” Nicole wanted to believe that Ted hadn't had sex with Leslie. Initially, Ted tried to claim that Leslie must have swiped the tie from his suite, but he came to realize that he couldn't start lying again. Nicole sussed out from that statement that Ted had slept with Leslie, and Ted swore that he'd been wasted at the time, and that it would never happen again. From Nicole's upset, Ted reminded his soon-to-be-ex-wife that she had been the one to file for divorce, yet it almost seemed like she cared. Nicole calmly told Ted that she did care...because what he had done with Leslie was “something powerful that [she] could use against [his] ass in court.” Nicole stormed out while Ted reeled.
