On Beyond the Gates, Doug, after taking some liquid courage, stood up to Joey but made a fool of himself and got manhandled for his troubles. All over Joey's radar, Doug wishes Randy were close.
Doug needs Randy more than ever on Beyond the Gates

The man in black, Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry), was last seen in the backroom of Joey's (Jon Lindstrom) casino as Doug (Jason Graham) and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) bargained for his life in Episode 86. Joey had tasked Randy with the important job of taking Kenny out and giving him a permanent, untraceable exit from the show. Failing to do that, Randy took $10,000 and tried to flee.
Joey, having friends in low and high places, sent Detective Marcel Malone to bring Randy back to face the music; instead, a different tune was crafted when Doug and Vanessa arrived at the opportune time and intervened. Saving his life, Randy promised to put Fairmont Crest to his rudder and never return.
Now we leap forward to the 100th episode, and Doug arrives at the casino and almost catches Joey and Vanessa kissing. He was told to leave but instead sat at the table and wanted to gamble, having had far too much to drink. Doug made the situation worse and crossed a few lines in talking to Vanessa about Joey. Joey, after sending the dealer away for the night, and with his new heavy watching this unfold (not a patch on Randy, I said what I said), had had enough.
Where are you ‘day one’

Joey paced over, hauled Doug out of his seat, and threw him against the wall. He told him he would be leaving, but how he left would be up to him. The choices are clear: walk or be thrown and beaten. It’s a shame that Doug didn't stand up for himself a bit more and rattle Joey a little. But Doug was a beaten man and left at his wife's urging. If only Randy were there, Doug would have been thinking. It wouldn’t have taken much, and Randy could have dispatched the heavy and left Joey in no uncertain terms, knowing what would happen if that happened again. Wishful thinking for all of us fans out here watching.

Randy Parker is gone, but Maurice P. Kerry has more than enough on his plate to keep him busy. Kerry is producing, co-writing, and starring in a movie that he’s creating called The Day Labor. This is a project near and dear to Kerry’s heart. This film is about a homeless veteran with PTSD, the ex-Marine feels burdened by his past sins, but a shot at redemption is found when he risks everything to rescue a kidnapped boy. This child was his only human connection in a city that had turned its back on him. A hard-hitting and gritty action drama/psychological thriller will be one to keep an eye out for, and details will be released as they come to hand. The release date is set for Labor Day 2026. Also, keep an eye out for Stranger Things season five, due out in November 2026, starring Kerry.
For now, Doug is going to need to weigh his words and actions carefully. Joey had his thug place a tracking device/recording device in Doug’s car, somewhere it won't be discovered. Joey closed the scene out by saying he wants to know where Doug goes and who he talks to. Randy, if you can hear us, your ‘day one’ really could use you right about now.
