Beyond the Gates: [Spoiler Alert] Is Hayley laying plans to take the whole payday for herself?

On Beyond the Gates, Randy/Sammy and Hayley better get on the same page, or Joey is going to spell disaster for these two and their scheme to take Bill’s life and his money.

Beyond the Gates: Lying to Joey is never a good idea

Randy had overlooked that the surveillance cameras at the casino were still working in the car parks and other outdoor areas, and he had only switched off the cameras in the backroom and inside the casino, which, on its own, would stand out to the security manager. It’s impressive that Joey (Jon Lindstrom) wasn’t informed of this and had a raft of different questions for the man in black. As it is, the excuse given for Randy (Maurice P.Kerry) and Hayley being in the casino was that the two were having an affair, but this was then shot down when Hayley (Marquita Goings) was asked the same question by Joey when he ran into her at Orphey Genes.

Hayley shot back that it was absurd that she would be having an affair with Randy and that she only knew him as Sammy after he helped her get to the hospital when she miscarried at Uptown. This was obviously surprising to Joey. Once Joey gets wind that someone isn't being honest with him, he digs and digs until he finds out what that is, and Randy can ill afford to have this go south on him again, especially after the botched killing of Kenny (ex Jason Vendryes) and his doing a dash with 10k.

Hayley was most unimpressed that Randy had created the lie about the affair to cover their meeting and told him that she had corrected Joey. Wow, she really threw Randy under the bus there. Now he had to come up with a whole new explanation for meeting Hayley, or say something that backed up his cousin's story. Was this Hayley making a play to ‘off’ her cousin as well? To avoid having to give Randy his payday, was she getting the notion in Joey's head that he couldn't be trusted, and assuming rightly that Joey would take care of that like he does his other problems?

When Randy next saw Joey, he looked and sounded nervous as he delivered this new explanation to him and Hayley, saying he had made up the affair story to ‘impress the boss’; now, Joey would know that Randy didn't have to impress the boss with rubbish like that. You could tell by Joey's look and tone that he wasn't buying it at all. Joey ominously left it hanging with, “ I will figure it out.”
