Beyond the Gates gets dark again, Fairmont Crest is rocked again, and in Friday's episode, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) gets an update and consoles a friend. Nicole’s bestie, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), needs a shoulder to cry on and the comfort of familiar faces as her trip to Puerto Rico with Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) is cut short by such distressing news.

Here are some names that haven't had a lot of screen time together in a while: Jan (Jerri Tubbs) and Mona (Karan Kendrick), two besties who used to be friends with Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) until they discovered that she was just using them to get close to the right people and exact her revenge on Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and the entire Dupree family. In Friday's episode, Jan and Mona discuss their former friend's sudden windfall. Neither can believe that such good luck could come to someone as truly awful as Leslie. Let’s hope they don't try to restore the friendship just to score some free cash and gifts.

A mother with money should be good for something

So far, Eva hasn’t really benefited from her mother winning big in the game of life once she discovered that she was now filthy rich beyond her wildest dreams. Leslie sure likes spending her new fortune as she’s not exactly going to run out of money, and in Friday's episode, Leslie shocks Eva with a big gift. This should be good to see, how will Eva react to having the money spent on her?

Doug (Jason Graham) ran his mouth one too many times, and it caught up with him. It was a dangerous game he and Vanessa were playing, and it could only have ended one way. As Joey would say, the house always wins, and someone always loses; this time, the price was steep, the stakes were high, and the cost was way too much. In Friday’s episode, Joey issues a grave warning. And it needs to be heeded.
