Beyond the Gates Recap, May 26-30, 2025: Hayley announced her pregnancy, and evidence piled up against Leslie

What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, a contrite Anita convinced Tracy to take part in The Articulettes' comeback concert. Tracy offered to mediate with the third in the trio, Sharon, who fumed that nothing but total remorse from Anita would do.

Hayley joyfully told Bill that she was pregnant, but Chelsea overheard and expressed her disgust. Chelsea reported the news to Dani, who initially took it well but soon relapsed into alcohol and conspiracy theories. Dani was certain that Hayley was faking her pregnancy and accosted Bill and Hayley about it, provoking Hayley into promising that Dani would regret it if she didn't stop taunting her. Bill suggested that he and Hayley move from Fairmont Crest, but Hayley didn't want to be seen as running.

When Smitty told Martin about how Bill had demanded Martin be on his “team,” and that Martin would know what Bill was talking about, Martin lied and said Bill was trying to position Smitty to be useful to him as an investigative reporter. A loose-lipped Martin confronted Bill at the country club, where the stranger who had been tailing Martin before was watching. Martin seemingly went ballistic after learning Hayley was pregnant and berated Hayley to the point that Bill attacked him – however, the assault had just been a fantasy of Martin's. Bill reminded Martin that his impulsivity never ended well, and Smitty, angry that Martin had lied about his whereabouts, worried when Martin voiced a desire to strangle Bill.

After Pamela tried to fix Dani up, Dani was forced to tell her friend about her fling with Andre. Meanwhile, Andre confided in Ted about Dani; Ted sensed that Andre's feelings were deeper than Dani's, while Andre hoped otherwise. Ted, unsure of how to get through to Nicole between her silence and the protective Duprees, sent Nicole a bouquet of Hawaiian flowers to remind her of their meeting on the Islands, which Nicole was moved by.

Doug wondered if Joey meant for Vanessa to be the payment that would settle Doug's debt and followed the increasingly flirtatious Vanessa and Joey to the casino, where the two made love for the first time on Joey's poker table. Samantha advised Jessica to let Tyrell know she liked him, but after Jessica kissed him, Tyrell thought that the popular student was setting him up for another photo prank, causing Jessica to storm out on him. Tomás and Kat had a heart-to-heart about his frustration over Kat focusing more on Eva than on him, so Kat made the effort to get to know him better. Derek took Ashley out on a date, where they concurred that, while they both ultimately wanted to get married and have a family, they were still in a place where they loved each other too much to live together.

Thanks to Andre, Kat got hold of footage that appeared to show a disguised Leslie sneaking into Laura's hospital room. Jacob learned that the mystery nurse had not, in fact, ever worked at the facility she had told Shanice about; Mona was unable to positively identify Leslie in the security screen cap. Going through boxes of clothes meant to be donated to the needy, Kat found a leather jacket with slips of paper in the pockets that more closely placed Leslie near the scene of Laura's accident. Nicole joined Kat and Mona's search for clues.

Leslie tested the waters with Ted by telling him Eva had been wondering if they were ever going to get back together. Ted sternly rejected Leslie, but agreed to co-parent Eva with her – and apologized for having given Leslie false hope during their affair. Kat was furious when she caught Leslie with Ted and intimated that he wanted to be with her; Andre also took note of how much time Ted was spending with Leslie. Eva happened upon Leslie surveying black gloves and a motorcycle helmet – after Leslie coldly sent Eva away with the rest of her things but couldn't hold back her own tears, Eva snuck back into the apartment and made off with the potentially damning items.
