Beyond the Gates' Ted Richardson mans up

On Beyond the Gates, Ted (Maurice Johnson) took his daughter Eva (Ambyr Michelle) to breakfast, and they greeted each other at the country club.

Eva looked lovely in pink. Eva was more than a little nervous about the choice of venue, but Ted convinced her that he belonged there and paid his membership to be so, and being his daughter, she was supposed to be there too. Many might argue it was a low-rent move to take his daughter there, of all places, and by many, I mean Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), Dani (Karla Mosley), and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli). But they were hardly likely also to be there, right? Well, if it wasn't for Vanessa and her cell phone, they mightn't have. Ted and Nicole were about to enjoy some breakfast together when in walked Beyond the Gates' Broken Hearts Club, complete with President Dani Dupree.

A round of hypocrisy for the ladies please

Snide remarks and ill-mannered looks abound. They took their seats, commemorated together, and told Nicole how she should feel and that Ted had no right to be there. Everyone, from Anita (Tamara Tunie), Vernon (Clifton Davis), Martin (Brandon Claybon), Kat (Colby Muhammed), Dani, Nicole, and even the passersby, has said that Ted needs to man up regarding his daughter. And there he was, manning up, taking responsibility, and making the effort he should, not begrudgingly or just because that's what others expect. Ted was being a father. And as for Dani and Vanessa, maybe the view is pretty, way up there on their high horse, but sooner or later, both will come crashing back down to earth. After all, it’s only a matter of time before Dani is in the spotlight again; she will need to explain herself to Nicole regarding Andre. And as for Vanessa, what's that saying about glass houses and rocks? Or pots calling kettles something? Right, her life is far from scandal-free; recently, the only thing surprising about her world was that she slept with her husband. So I’m sorry, ladies, stand down from the moral high ground. Do you have any thoughts that you can weigh in on Nicole's behalf with any credibility?

Ted realized that the only thing he would get from that table was judgment and hypocrisy, so he left it by saying that it was a private matter between his wife, their children, and himself, and no one else. Ted said that he hoped they would get past it and that he would do all he could to prove that he can still be the man Nicole married, and that in a year's time, they would be celebrating another anniversary with love. You sure screwed up ted, but no one can argue that you’re not trying to make it right in all the ways that count. Still a Ted supporter here, no matter which actor portrays the man, and by the way, we are only one more day away from Keith D. Robinson taking over the role of Ted Richardson on Beyond the Gates.
