Beyond the Gates' Tomas and Eva in shocking kiss moment

On Beyond the Gates, Tomas and Eva kissed, with passion, and right there at the countertop of Orphey Gene’s. Maybe not the most brilliant move by either, but is this a ploy by Eva?

Desire can’t be held back on Beyond the Gates

The moment happened, and Tomas (Alex Alegria) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) kissed. Whether you were rooting for them or not, let’s see how they got there. Tomas and Eva have had an attraction since they first met, and Tomas saw Eva and decided to lend an ear as no one else would. Even after Kat protested loudly to him, he would not hate her just because Kat did. The two bonded over a shared interest in reading a fantasy series, and they came close to kissing up in Eva’s hotel room. Tomas stopped it and said that he had something with Kat, and he wanted to see where it went.

That's as far as things went for now. Tomas and Kat never really progressed, and then one night Kat decided that she wanted to sleep with Tomas. When it came time to do the deed, Tomas put the brakes on and said that his reasons for doing so were that he didn't want Kat to be pressured into it, and doing it just for him. All of us at home were like, 'Uh-oh, this smells like he’s just not that into Kat anymore, and his heart has wandered off.' Sure enough, after that, there were no more scenes of Tomas and Kat getting hot and heavy, and any time Eva was around, Tomas was all smiles and love and light. We know what’s going on here.

Maybe it’s fate

It’s a controversial topic among soap fans as to whether Eva or Kat was right for Tomas, and the jury is still out on what the consensus is. Fans are pretty vocal about their support of Kat and their dislike of Eva, but it’s undeniable that the attraction between the two of them is real. If asked for my two cents, I’d say that Tomas has become more and more disillusioned with Kat Richardson and the Dupree family. What was once a novelty, moving and shaking with the power family of D.C., has worn off, and the more he hears, the less Kat resembles his dream girl and more like the self-entitled princess some fans believe she is.

Then, today happened (Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025). Tomas walked into Orphey Gene’s and saw Kat there. The two got chatting, and Kat’s name came up as setting Eva up to fail and disappoint their father in a humiliating way. Eva fixed it, but Kat won’t give up there. They laughed about a quite from the series they are reading and Tomas said made a remark about fate, not coincidence and they both hugged, from the hug they held each others gaze and leant in and shareed their first kiss, which, was one heck of a kiss, not just a little peck, a deep passionate kiss thats been building for months. The fact that this kiss happened in the busiest little cafe in the DMV is a considerable risk, and they must have been seen, but by whom? What will happen now? Will Tomas regret it? Break up with Kat? Maybe this was a ploy by Eva to get a point scored against Kat and hurt her where it counts? I doubt this. Stay tuned, soap fans, Beyond the Gates is going to get messier for sure.
