Karla Mosley reunited with her daytime pals on the West Coast in Los Angeles last week when the Beyond the Gates star took advantage of the show being on a short production hiatus. Soap Central caught up with the fan favorite when she joined some soap opera pals from The Young and the Restless and General Hospital and other shows for a St. Jude benefit in West Hollywood.

At "Daytime at Night – A Benefit for St. Jude" at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, Mosley sang a solo song, and she also reunited with her school pal Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, Y&R) to perform a duet. Lily Brooks O'Briant (Lucy, Y&R) organized the charity event that featured performances from actors from BTG, Y&R, GH, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Days of our Lives.
"Missy, as you know, and I have known each other since middle school," Mosley told Soap Central in this exclusive interview. "Lily had asked her to do the show. Missy wanted to do a duet and she texted me if I'd do it with her. So, here I am!"
There was also a lot going on in Fairmont Crest this week. We saw Dani accuse Hayley (Marquita Goings) of faking her pregnancy while she's also been insecure about her relationship with Andre (Sean Freeman). "It's been surprising for Dani to be developing this level of intimacy with Andre as she learns about possible developments with other people," Mosley says. "She's having feelings that she didn't expect to have."
Might a future with Andre include Dani leaving Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) in her rearview mirror? "I wouldn't say so," Mosley responds. "What's complicating things for her is while she's developing feelings for Andre, she's still very much in love with her ex-husband. That's confusing for her and for Andre, too."
Dani V. Hayley forever

We saw earlier this week Dani accuse Hayley of lying about her supposed pregnancy. The showdown scenes between the two women were classic soap opera fare, but Mosley shares that they were challenging to shoot to the feminist in her. However, she sees her character's viewpoint.
"[Dani] felt manipulated by Hayley," the actress says. "She felt the wool was pulled over her eyes. She's not going to let go of that anytime soon. She spent so many years defending Bill."
Mosley has shot roles on soap operas in New York, on location in Peapack, New Jersey, in Hollywood, and now, in Atlanta for Beyond the Gates. But what all these jobs have in common is the sense of a team working together to create a product. "We're in this big, beautiful new studio that's great," she enthuses. "It's been incredibly refreshing. And we're invigorating the genre a bit. We have different people with different expertise, all collaborating."
