On Beyond the Gates, Ambyr Michelle plays Eva Thomas, and lately, both have been giving us heartbreaking scenes and powerful performances. Today, we celebrate Ambyr and wish her the happiest of birthdays.
Ambyr Michelle: Behind the Gates

Ambyr Michelle arrived on Beyond the Gates with a hiss and a roar, and immediately made her presence felt. Between Eva and her scheming mother, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), Ambyr grabbed our attention and didn't let go. From the snooping on the Richardsons and the plotting, to the most heartbreaking scenes after the anniversary party when Eva was discarded by her mother, Ambyr always manages to get the delivery right.
We’re so invested in this talented actress that when we see Eva’s heart break, ours does too. Thankfully, we have plenty of reasons to put Eva’s strife aside today, because Ambyr Michelle has given us another reason to celebrate her, and this one is much happier.

Ambyr posted on her Instagram for her birthday, and the love that followed from fellow cast members and fans was a delight to see and much deserved.
Her on-screen mother, Leslie, was the first to wish her happy birthday on the post.

Eva Thomas: What’s next on Beyond the Gates
Eva has started to bounce back after the diabolical scene at the anniversary party of Ted (then Maurice Johnson) and Nicole Richardson-Dupree (Daphnée Duplaix). Tossed out of her home by her mother, she reconnects with her father, Ted (Keith D. Robinson), and is even welcomed to pizza night at the family home by her half-brother, Martin (Brandon Claybon). After a few tense moments, she started to feel welcome and accepted, especially when she pulled out some bougie hair styles for young Samantha (Najah Jackson). That got her instant credibility and bought a whole lot of laughs and smiles. Here's hoping it’s not temporary. Now, in the knowledge that her mother really isn't going to change her mind, she made it clear that the line in the sand also extends to her being an alibi for a certain incident involving a motorbike, a car, and poor Laura, who’s still in the hospital. Look out, Eva, Momma is looking to make sure she has a seat under her when the music eventually stops.
From all of us at Soap Central, happy birthday, Ambyr!
