Beyond the Gates Spoilers, August 18th: Leslies luck is about to change and Doug has advice for Ted and critical information for Jacob

What to Expect on Beyond the Gates

Leslie's (Trisha Mann-Grant) last few hours have been a whirlwind of information and emotion. A surprise visit from Peaches (Arle Michel), who called herself “The only mother you’ll ever know,” to Leslie arrived, and offloaded a ton of guilt she had been holding. Peaches went on to say that she was not only Leslie's birth mom, but the person who raised her because Leslie's biological mother didn't want children—amidst tears, Leslie learnt that her real mother was none other than the fourth member, the original Articulette, Barbara Mitchell. In Monday's episode, Leslie learns her luck may have just changed. Peaches revealed that because of Barbara, Leslie stands to inherit a fortune.

Be wary of advice handed out

Doug (Jason Graham) has had it with living in fear of Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) and wants to concoct a plan with his day one buddy, Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry). This plan had some dire consequences for Joey if it were successful, but Doug should be wary; Joey didn't get where he did by being sloppy or underestimating people. In Monday's episode, Doug doles out advice for Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and some critical information to Jacob (Jibre Hordges). How Doug can help Ted with his marriage when his own is a complete farce is beyond us. However, the advice he will offer, and Jacob, who still wants to pursue justice, Doug might just have the missing connections Jacob needs to put the pieces together in that mystery of the body in Stance Park.

After crashing and going over the handlebars on his bicycle during a triathlon event, Derek (Ben Gavin) landed heavily on his back on the curb. The injury, a pinched nerve caused by a bone shard from his lumbar spine, has now been operated on, but Derek may just never walk again. Harsh realities for Ashley (Jen Jacob) after she asked Dr Montgomery (Kenjah McNeil) how the surgery went. This was just the things fans had predicted: Derek to have an injury and Ashley to then proclaim her love for him all over again, and that’s exactly how it played out. In Monday's episode, Ashley calls on Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) to help Derek.
