What to expect on Beyond the Gates
Smitty (Mike Manning)and his puff piece on Det. Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy) is starting to make all the wrong connections for those involved in the cover-up and pay-off two years ago. Smitty discovered that Vernon (Clifton Davis) testified at an Internal Affairs hearing for Marcel and vouched for him. Elon (Malachi Malik) is deeply concerned that it will unravel everything they have closely guarded. In Wednesday's episode, Smitty and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) compare notes, and it unearths a startling memory for Jacob. Over the years, Jacob has seen some questionable actions, and they have all been explained away. Now, with what he knows, they will all be seen in a very different light.
Vanessa gets bold
Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Doug (Jason Graham) encountered a very nervous Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) at Uptown. When asked if he was afraid of Joey (Jon Lindstrom), Randy said he was terrified. Joey is clever, shrewd, and very cautious. When he kept going over what Randy had said and then went to count the money from the bag, were his suspicions confirmed? Does he now believe Randy messed up? Or deliberately hid something from him? Randy needs to lay low for a lot of reasons. Vanessa will confront Joey in one of the boldest moves she has made. In Wednesday's episode, Vanessa serves Joey an ultimatum. How will this go over? Doug and his wife have a certain amount of influence now that they are in business with Joey, but that does not mean they have any control at all.

If anyone believes that Dani (Karla Mosley), after seeing Andre (Sean Freeman) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) together, would just walk away and know when to admit defeat, then you just don't know Dani Dupree. We will see how strong Ashley is and whether she is willing to battle for what and who she wants. In Wednesday's episode, Dani gets territorial over Andre. Whose side are you on? Team Dani or Team Ashley? Andre is in a terrible position and needs to make a statement on who he wants to be with so these two ladies don't tear up Fairmont Crest.
