Next Week on Beyond the Gates

Everyone is gathered for drinks at the Fairmont Crest Country Club function room, previously host to the debacle that was Nicole's (Daphnée Duplaix) and Ted’s (Keith D. Robinson) anniversary dinner. Still, now something much less dramatic, we hope. Vernon (Clifton Davis) gets everyone's attention and says, “Ladies and gentlemen, The Articulettes.” And there we have Anita (Tamara Tunie) with Tracy (Maria Howell) and Sharon (Bonita Brisker) on either side of her. Looking very pleased after the concert. The time in the spotlight is just beginning for these three ladies.

Kat plays bouncer

Just outside the entrance to the function room where The Articulettes hold court to their adoring fans and family, Kat (Colby Muhammed) stops two troublemakers from entering. Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and her daughter Eva (Ambyr Michelle) stand outside trying to gain entrance, but Kat is having none of it. Eva tells Kat that they are not there to start any drama, but Kat shuts it down and says that they have two seconds to get out of there before she makes them, and then starts counting, “ One…”

Carlton you dawg

Would he jump in his grave as quickly? Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) did tell Ted that he would be willing to make a play for his wife just to make him look good when he eventually gets back together with her. Carlton is not being a good friend to Ted at all and has his agenda, some fun with Nicole. It’s all flirty smiles and laughs, and the table Carlton and Nicole share, and Carlton asks Nicole if they should continue these laughs over dinner sometime. And then Ted arrives and is taken aback by the sight of the two together. And this will get interesting. Nicole enjoys Carlton's company and won’t be against sticking it to Ted.

Finally, the fans get what they want

Ashley (Jen Jacob) has Andre (Sean Freeman) back at her studio apartment, and the fans are getting what they’ve been asking for. Andre takes Ashley by the hands and tells her that he knows what he wants now, something real, something with roots. The two share a passionate kiss, one that could suspend time itself. At last, we all cry!

Somebody help me

Hayley (Marquita Goings) is at Uptown when things take a serious turn, clutching at herself and screaming she cries, “Somebody help me.” Her hands are covered in blood, and she is holding her lower abdomen. This can only mean one thing. But who will help her? First on the scene is the one person Hayley would rather not see. Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) rushes over but doesn't get the reaction she thought she would, pushing her away. Hayley tells Dani, “Don't you dare touch me.”
