What to expect on Beyond the Gates

Eva (Ambyr Michelle) wears a lovely pink dress and sparkly white clutch purse as she smiles and holds Ted's (Maurice Johnson) hand. The two smile at each other, sharing a very happy moment together. Next, we see Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Eva sitting at Orphey Gene's, and Leslie is berating Eva, saying, “Look at you, living the life, with the parent that you chose.” Leslie then snidely adds, “Don't give me another thought.”

Leslie, already upset at Eva for choosing sides against her at the anniversary party, kicked Eva out of the home they shared. Now, having seen Eva making the best of the situation and getting along and sharing good times with Ted, Leslie is raging inside.

The Duprees

Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) sit at the grand piano in their mansion. Whilst smiling at each other, Anita grabs Vernon's cellphone and says, “Anything for you, Mr. Dupree,” which causes Vernon to smile more, and he leans in to kiss Anita. She gently touches his cheek and puts the cellphone down on the piano, but quickly adds, “...but that,” which wipes the smile off Vernon's face quicker than an express carwash. What was it that Vernon was after? Was he trying to record Anita singing? Vernon is, after all, keen to see a revival of his wife and her singing.

Kat seeks the truth

Kat (Colby Muhammed) confronts Leslie and says, “So you're admitting it, Eva ran Laura off the road.” Leslie just looks straight at Kat not saying yes or no, damning in and of itself, but will Kat believe that Eva could do that? Kat seeks the truth behind all the lies surrounding Leslie and Eva’s arrival in town and the mysterious illness that plagued Laura (Destiny Love) and kept her in the hospital, and Eva employed at Nicole's side.

Dani’s not-so-secret boy toy

Nicole questions Dani about Andre, wanting to know what's happening between them. She asks Dani seemingly out of nowhere, “Do you want to tell me what's going on with Andre?” Nicole has a vested interest in Andre’s relationships as he was once thought to be pursuing nurse Ashley Morgan, who happened to be in a relationship already. Nicole does not want any more family drama to add to the growing list. Next up, we see Andre shirtless move atop Dani in her bedroom, before making love, after we see the two snuggled up in the afterglow, and Dani asks Andre, “What took you so long to wind up in my bed?” Is it dangerous for Andre to continue to pursue this, or are they both becoming a little more serious about each other?
