On Beyond the Gates, two of Fairmont Crest's biggest pariahs and love-to-hate characters are about to join forces — and this could spell serious trouble for all those in their way.
Beyond the Gates’ two bad girls

We are set to see the best of daytime TV’s villain duos since Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) and Vivian (Louise Sorel) from Days of our Lives or Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) on The Young and the Restless. BTG fans are about to get their modern dose. Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Hayley Hamilton (Marquita Goings) are about to collaborate on what can only be a nefarious plan. Neither are strangers to getting what they want and using whatever they need to get it.
Hayley was added to the Dupree hit list when it was revealed that she pursued married man Bill Hamilton, and, according to many, contributed to the breakup of Dani's (Karla Mosley) marriage to Bill. Once the marriage was over, Hayley set up camp right in Fairmont Crest and immediately became persona non grata at the country club. Shunned by all except her husband and constantly under scrutiny by everyone else, it appears that this baffled girl is now faking a pregnancy. But look out, Hayley, Dani is onto you.

As for Leslie Thomas, you’d have to travel far away from the DMV to meet someone who doesn't know who this resident baddie is. She arrived in town with her daughter Eva (Ambyr Michelle) with the sole purpose of trying to break up Ted's (then-Maurice Johnson, now Keith D. Robinson) marriage to Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix). Leslie turned up at their wedding anniversary party and revealed who she was — and all the details of their decades-old affair. As if that wasn’t shocking enough, Leslie introduced the child who was conceived during their time together: Eva, Ted’s biological daughter.
What happens when bad meets worse?
The only thing worse for Fairmont Crest than these two ladies and their individual agendas is the two of them deciding to work together. That is exactly what we have to look forward to when Beyond the Gates resumes its regular scheduled programming, the week starting Monday, 7th July.
Meeting at Orphey Gene’s, Leslie and Hayley appear to bond rather quickly, and Leslie is very excited, asking how they can help each other. So, what do they need from each other? Hayley needs to either pretend to be still pregnant or get Dani to back off. Leslie needs Eva to trust her again and to get Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammed) to stop involving herself in the case against her, which is being run by Detective Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges). Aside from their individual needs, they both have a mutual spanner in their respective works: the Duprees. Between the two of them, Dani should be concerned; if only she knew the threat was out there. She won’t even see it coming as she is going to be far too distracted by something else. (Check the spoilers here to find out more.) Could Nicole also be a target? It’s quite possible. Even though Hayley has no issues with Nicole, that could be the price of doing business with Leslie.

Leslie always manages to stay one step ahead of the law, despite some serious work being done by Kat and Jacob. The queen of disguises can slip in and out of places and leave no provable trace of her work. As for Hayley, I have my suspicions about her, and faking a pregnancy is the least of my worries. For one, Hayley may not be who she claims to be, and her connection to someone else in the cast would make for a fun, if not interesting, development. Will we discover that her birth mother is not, in fact, dead?
Stay tuned, soap fans. Once we get through next week's preemptions and revisit the premier week of Beyond the Gates, new episodes will drop, and all eyes will turn towards Fairmont Crest's most despised women. You have to love good villains done right, and Goings and Mann-Grant deliver with the best.
You can watch Beyond the Gates weekdays on CBS or stream live or on-demand on Paramount Plus.
