On The Young and the Restless, Kyle and Audra are headed home to Genoa City, but have the events of their trip to France changed everything?

It was a hot summer in the French Riviera, and most of the heat was exuding from Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). Audra got an invitation through Victor (Eric Braeden), exclusively so she could try to seduce Kyle (Michael Mealor).

The deal was that if Audra broke up Kyle and Claire (Hayley Erin), then Victor would invest in Audra’s start-up company, Vibrante. But, as with most things at Aristotle Dumas’ summer estate, things went really, really, wrong.

Too hot to handle?

After Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was murdered, Audra was as shocked as everyone else, but she didn’t seem too distracted from her goals. Sure, she was concerned about how her boyfriend, Nate (Sean Dominic), and Damian’s mom, Amy (Valarie Pettiford), were going to take the news, but she barely spoke to the rest of Nate’s family, who were at the estate with her, the entire trip.

Instead, when Audra claimed to have gotten a case of the feels, she ran to Kyle. Sad Audra moved in for some affection, and before long, she and Kyle were having a heavy make-out session that led to the bed.

Kyle, on the other hand, was doing the same. He kept telling his girlfriend Claire, and his parents Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) that he wasn’t falling for Audra’s tricks, and just wanted to see how far she would take things. So confident is his swerve, Kyle even signed a contract with Victor, promising that if he ever cheated on Claire, he would pay Victor $5 million and leave town. We didn’t get a copy, but hopefully it defined clearly what constituted “cheating.”

Claire’s opinion might be the dealbreaker

When quickly calling Claire for her approval to bolt, Kyle conveniently left out the reason he was going to the Dumas party: because Audra was there. Claire had warned him that Audra was nothing but trouble, and everyone told him that he didn’t need to prove that — he just needed to avoid her.

But Kyle persisted in playing the game until he got to roll around on a bed with his ex, making out like he meant it. Regardless of his stopping and mocking her attempts, he didn’t really need to cheat on Claire to prove that Audra wanted him to cheat on Claire.

Kyle ran to Victor and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to tattle on Audra and her secret plan with Victor — but how could that not backfire? If Nikki tells Claire what happened, Claire could very well dump Kyle for misleading her, taking advantage of her trust, and going too far with Audra for no apparent reason. If she does break up with him for it, Victor could use the contract against Kyle as — at least in our eyes — he seems to have broken it.
