Every day on The Young and the Restless, we are treated to characters with an assortment of personalities. Some characters, like Victor, are ruthless. Others, like Audra and Phyllis, are fiesty and fiery.

Then there are those special characters who we wouldn't mind hanging out with, if they were real people. Here are five Y&R characters we would like to be friends with:

Michael Baldwin on The Young and the Restless

Michael (Christian LeBlanc) was a villain when he first came to Genoa City on The Young and the Restless in 1991. He sexually harassed Christine (Lauralee Bell), but he may be one of the only soap characters who actually paid for his crime by serving time in prison. Since then, he's turned his life around and become one of the most well-loved characters on Y&R.

We may get annoyed by the ways he knocks himself out to prove his loyalty to Victor (Eric Braeden), who isn't worthy of such devotion much of the time. But Michael always looks out for his family and friends, always having their best interests at heart. We wouldn't mind having a cup of coffee with him at Crimson Lights or dinner at the GCAC.

Sally Spectra

Sally (Courtney Hope) is another character who started as a trouble-maker on The Young and the Restless. She was in cahoots with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) when they conspired to get Summer (then played by Hunter King) to move to Milan and away from Kyle (Michael Mealor), so Tara could move in on him.

But Sally has grown enormously since then. She made amends with Summer (later played by Allison Lanier), even working for her at Marchetti. She's a loyal friend to Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and isn't afraid to call Audra out on her bad behaviour. But at the same time, Sally never judges her. She is always fair-minded. Those are just some of the reasons why we would love to be friends with her.

Traci Abbott

Most, if not all, fans know that Traci (Beth Maitland) is arguably the kindest and sweetest character on The Young and the Restless. In fact, not only would we want to be friends with her in real life. We would love to have her as a sister. She was a great support to her sister, Ashley (Eileen Davidson), when Ashley struggled with dissociative identity disorder. Traci accompanied her to Paris to be there for her when Ashley was seeking therapy.

Traci also supported her brother Jack's (Peter Bergman) marriage to Diane (Susan Walters) and has always remained open-minded toward Diane, even when some of the other Abbotts didn't believe she'd moved away from her conniving ways. Like Sally, Traci is fair-minded and non-judgmental. She is genuine, loving, and the classiest lady on Y&R. That's why we would love to have her for a friend.

Daniel Romalotti

One of the things we love most about Daniel (Michael Graziadei) is that he isn't interested in being rich, like most of the other Genoa City residents. He isn't a big businessman like Victor or Jack, and he doesn't want to be. He's one of the creative GC folks. He's an artist and a budding musician. He's comfortable in his own skin and likes himself just as he is.

We like Daniel because he's easy-going, down to earth, and unassuming. He doesn't put on any airs. He isn't two-faced. Unlike characters like Victor, we never need to worry that he has a trick up his sleeve and is plotting a huge takeover. Daniel isn't out to hurt anyone, in business or in his personal life.

He always looks out for his mother, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and always tries to stop her from going off the rails, which she does all too often. Daniel has a cool and relaxed personality, so he feels like the ideal guy to have for a friend.

Tessa Porter

Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) is another character on The Young and the Restless who doesn't judge people and doesn't put on airs. She's been a caring friend to Daniel and has helped him cope with the death of his girlfriend Heather (Vail Bloom) by teaching him how to play the guitar.

We've also seen Tessa in scenes where she lent a sympathetic ear to Claire (Hayley Erin) when Claire was struggling with Kyle's lies regarding his kisses with Audra (Zuleyka Silver) in Nice, France. She even took an initial liking to Ian Ward (Ray Wise) when he first returned to GC, and she didn't know who he really was. She thought he was telling the truth when he said he was a man of the cloth.

Even after Mariah (Camryn Grimes) told Tessa he was Ian Ward, it was initially difficult for Tessa to believe that the man who seemed so decent was really a master manipulator. She has a sweet, gentle nature that would make her an ideal friend to have. Not only does her singing relax us. Her kind, caring personality does, too.
