On The Young and the Restless, Cane’s guests at his French Riviera estate believe that the train tracks and roads are all out of commission and that there is no cell service. But we know it’s a lie.
Cane traps his guests on The Young and the Restless

Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), formerly known as the (con) artist Aristotle, has invited a who’s who list of Genoa City’s biggest hitters in the business world to his French estate. Among the fun and games on his expansive property, the guests had to navigate a maze to get to and from their exquisite bespoke sleeping carriages aboard Aristotle's private train.
Not mentioned before they arrived, however, was the fact that they couldn't be in touch with anyone from Genoa City while they were there; in fact, they couldn't be in contact with anyone at all. Now that people have met Aristotle and learned that he is, in fact, self-exiled, ex-Genoa City resident Cane Ashby, they have had enough of the games and want to return to their lives and work in Genoa City. Alas, no can do. According to Cane, a passing storm led to road closures, and the train tracks that brought them in are washed out.
However, as the guests have hunkered down for their stay, the weather has looked marvelous. Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) were sunbathing, and Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was wandering around shirtless. He, Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy (Jason Thompson) have been swimming in the pool. The roads and tracks might need fixing, but the sunny weather wouldn’t interfere with the wifi. Cane has trapped his guests.
What is Cane doing?

Cane invited Chance (Connor Floyd) to the gathering, not because he is a Chancellor, but because he is a cop — claiming he thinks that before this is over, someone is going to try to kill him and wants Chance’s detective skills to protect him. Cane and Amanda’s texts are working just fine: Amanda (Mishael Morgan) received Cane’s message that he left for Genoa City for two days to cover for his absence. If cell service is okay for those two, that means that a local cell jammer must be being used for the others.
Won't Cane’s absence now be very suspicious? Chance has told people about his conversation with Cane about his worries that someone will try to kill him. This will surely appear as if that exact thing has happened and spread fear and panic. Cane has deliberately trapped his guests (or at least led them to believe they are) and intends to make use of that time to further his schemes.
As billionaires and multi-millionaires, the rest of the guests could easily find a way off the estate and charter a private jet or helicopter to escape should they wish to. Cane must have used a road to get out. A helicopter or jet would have been heard by everyone. While the guests play real-life “Clue” without a victim, Cane is setting things in motion. What are his true intentions, and how is he going to get Chancellor off Victor (Eric Braeden)? Stay tuned, soap fans. We are surely not yet nearing the end of this — if anything, new questions and mysteries are popping up on The Young and the Restless.
