The Young and the Restless fan favorites Tricia Cast, who plays Nina, and Patty Weaver, who plays Gina, are coming back to Genoa City in November. The two actresses are set to reprise their roles just in time for Danny and Cricket's wedding.
The Young and the Restless, family reunion
Soap Opera Digest first reported the news of the returns. It's fitting that the two will be at the wedding as they both attended Christine (AKA Cricket, Lauralee Bell) and Danny's (Michael Damian) Hawaiian nuptials back in 1990.
Nina served as Cricket's maid of honor, but the two weren't always besties. The two women had both fallen for Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz). Nina became pregnant with Phillip's son, Chance (Conner Floyd), and ended up marrying him.
Alas, Phillip died in a car wreck after driving drunk -- or so viewers thought for decades. In reality, Phillip had faked his death so that he could move to Australia and live openly there as a gay man. He returned to Genoa City about 20 years later, shocking his family and loved ones.
Cast has made sporadic appearances over the years since her exit as a full-time cast member in the early 2000s. The actress won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Young Actress in a Drama Series in 1992 for the storyline in which Nina shot her unfaithful husband, David Kimble (Michael Corbett), who had planned to do away with her.
Cast was nominated again, this time in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2011, for her role as Nina. Viewers are hoping that Nina will get to cross paths with Cane (Billy Flynn) during this visit so that she can let loose with her feelings over the death of Chance, who died saving Cane's life.
Gina's story
Like Nina, Weaver's Gina fell prey to a bad boy. She trusted Clint Radison (James Michael Gregary), but he concocted a devious plan to replace Katherine Chancellor (the late, great Jeanne Cooper) with Marge (also played by Cooper).

Clint's plan was foiled when Marge pretended to fight a captive Kay but ended up switching places with her so Katherine could escape! Gina confronted Clint in jail and faced her wrath. Nina and Gina dropped by Genoa City in 2023 for the show's 50th anniversary gala.
