The Young and the Restless fans got a bonus gift when they tuned in to see Danny and Cricket retie the knot at the Genoa City Athletic Club. They got the return of Nina Webster, played by Daytime Emmy-winner Tricia Cast. Soap Central thinks that Nina needs to stick around Genoa City, and we've brought the receipts to prove our case!
The Young and the Restless, Nina needs to come home

It didn't take long for Cast to remind viewers why she's one of Daytime TV's most respected actresses. When she was a teenager, Y&R cast cast in the role of Nina Webster, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, who was going to fight for what she wanted in life. She was the antithesis of Cricket (Lauralee Bell), but, despite this, the two women became friends.
Nina fiercely advocated for Cricket when she brought her to the emergency room after she'd been raped. In her first several years on the show, Nina was widowed, and following her husband Phillip's (Thom Bierdz) death (actually, "death"), she fell prey to villain David Kimble (Michael Corbett). Jill's (Jess Walton) former secretary schemed to marry Nina, then he was going to kill her and also do away with her son. That way, David was going to inherit the wealth that Nina got from Phillip.
It was a revelation watching Cast play Nina realize that she'd been duped. Viewers wanted to reach through the screen and give the poor woman a much-needed hug. Next, Nina shot David multiple times in self-defense. He lived, but Nina went on trial for attempted murder. She was found guilty! How could any jury declare a mother trying to save her life and the life of her child a criminal? It turned out that they couldn't!
The jury was polled, and one lone juror confessed to being pressured into agreeing with the other jurors. The judge sent them back to deliberate! When they returned, Nina was found innocent!
Old rivals

Next, Nina entered a healthier relationship with Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves), but that proved to be problematic, too. Nina faced romantic competition from Victoria Newman (then, Heather Tom; now, Amelia Heinle). The tense and terse encounters between Nina and Vicki were classic! The two women sparred with one another brilliantly!
What if Nina came back to town, and she started dating Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic)? Instant triangle! There is a great deal else that Nina could do when she comes home. The corporate battles between Cane (Billy Flynn), who is indirectly responsible for the death of Nina's son, Chance (Conner Floyd), and Jack (Peter Bergman) and Victor (Eric Braeden) need more of a human element.
Nina gave Cane a tongue-lashing during her brief return to Genoa City, but her continued presence could add a vital element to Cane's ongoing storyline!
