Poor Chance went to that great soap opera in the sky today on The Young and the Restless. Now, his portrayer, Conner Floyd, is opening up about his experience in Genoa City.
Taking a Chance on The Young and the Restless
"It’s been real GC," Floyd wrote on Instagram. "What a ride. I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City. To share the stage with so many talented and hard-working actors, creatives, and crew members. This is without a doubt a special place. I’m grateful to have been a part of such an iconic piece of art that has lasted through the decades and that has such a stellar, die-hard fan base. Thank you for accepting me.
"Chance will always have a close place in my heart," the actor continued. "He’s taught me a lot, and I’ll miss him dearly. It’s been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy."
From Genoa City to Salem

No word yet on whether Y&R will be sending Chance off with a funeral or memorial episode once Cane's guests make their way back to Genoa City. If The Young and the Restless does do a Chance-centric show, we might see the returns of his mother, Nina (Tricia Cast), grandmother, Jill (Jess Walton), and his father, Phillip (Thom Bierdz).
Floyd's former co-stars are sad to see him go, but they know he's off to a new role as Chad DiMera (the role that Billy Flynn exited to take on the part of Cane, the man indirectly responsible for Chance's death) on Days of our Lives.
"It's been a pleasure, homie," Jason Thompson (Billy), Chance's TV uncle posted. "Get get it!! 🙌." Added Michael Graziadei (Daniel): "😢 you will be greatly missed. Glad I was afforded the opportunity to not only work with you, but to also get to know you and to be able to call you a friend. 💪🎸🔥."
"Detective Chancellor, over and out," concluded Floyd. While the actor has moved over to DAYS to take on the role of Chad due to that show's taping schedule, he won't be seen on-air until April 2025.
Chance is one of four characters who've been killed off on Y&R recently. Cole (J. Eddie Peck) succumbed to Legionnaire's disease, Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was stabbed in the back, and Chance died from a gunshot wound. After Chance died, his assailant, Carter (Vincent Stabla), committed suicide.
