Former The Young and the Restless star Daniel Goddard remembers the late Tristan Rogers

A flood of tributes for the late Tristan Rogers, who played Colin on The Young and the Restless, have been posted on social media since news of the actor's passing broke on Friday. Now, Daniel Goddard, who played Y&R's Cane Ashby, Colin's son, is sharing his thoughts on the loss of his former TV dad.

"Mate, I just heard the news, and I’m shocked," Goddard, who now plays Dr. Henry Dalton on General Hospital, wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself and Rogers. "I want you to know how much you meant to not just me, but everyone that had the fortune of being in your presence.

"You were a trailblazer—doing what no other Australian had done—and after all these years, you were still everybody’s mate," Goddard continued. "You were kind, with one of the driest senses of humour I’ve ever known, and I caught every joke, no matter how subtle. From the first scene to the last, I never stopped learning from you. The world is now a little more empty without you in it. Rest in peace, my friend. ❤️🙏🏻."

"Heartbreaking, man! I loved Tristan [ex-Hunter Jones, The Bold and the Beautiful] like a brother," wrote Winsor Harmon (Thorne, B&B) shared on social media. (Hunter Jones was the private eye who set out to prove who truly shot Grant Chambers, played by Charles Grant, in 1997.)

Added @1katejacksonfan: "💔 will never forget when my kids and I met Tristan, Jess [Walton, Jill], and you in Clearwater and Tristan photobombed one of my pictures with Jess. RIP Tristian."
