Exclusive Interview: General Hospital's Daniel Goddard and The Young and the Restless's Bryton James want to bring YOU to the Daytime Emmys

General Hospital star Daniel Goddard, who plays Henry, and Bryton James, who plays Devon, on The Young and the Restless, have teamed up to create a social app called Dysko that brings people together -- and you can use it to join James at the Daytime Emmys on Friday!

"Dysko is a real-time social networking app that connects you with like-minded people nearby or anywhere in the world, according to the app's home page. Goddard explains that Dysko is different from other social platforms or apps, given the unique way it invites inclusivity.

"Dysko makes you feel like you're a part of something," Goddard explains. "Our goal is to bring communities together and build communities of people together with like-minded passions. It could be for daytime, a particular show, a couple, or a character. It could be anything. You define 'your people,' who are just like you, wherever they are, and then build relationships and friendships that make your experiences more meaningful."

"It's a way to interact with fans who will be at the Daytime Emmys without having to be there," James says. (The Young and the Restless actor has two Daytime Emmys on his mantle for playing Devon Winters.)

"Absolutely," concurs Goddard. "All they have to do is go to the Apple app store or the Google Play Store [for Androids], download the app, and it's a very fast onboarding experience. You sign up with your email or your phone number, and you create your profile.

"At that point, the map will show you where you are," Goddard adds. "You can enter a location -- like Pasadena Convention Center [where the Daytime Emmys are being held] -- and it'll transport you [virtually] to that location. You'll start seeing the profiles. Swipe through it and you'll see people you know and people you don't know who you have the most things in common with. It's all about building connections and friendships that you didn't know were out there."

At this year's awards, set for Friday, October 17, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET, The Young and the Restless is nominated for 19 awards. GH is nominated for 16 awards.

Dysko connection, community

While some social platforms allow users to be the stars of their own lives, Dysko, Goddard says, is about bringing people together at a time when people are feeling more separate. "People post moments or post something that they have to say [on most social platforms], but we're not about that," Goddard explains. "We're anti that. We're about building relationships that matter. We're not about content -- we're about community."

If you sign up on Dysko, you can look for both James's and Goddard's profiles in and around the Pasadena Convention Center area. "If Bryton or I are broadcasting live, they'll see everything we're broadcasting," Goddard says.
