It finally happened — and not just in Sharon's dream. The Young and the Restless' on-again/off-again popular pair, Sharon and Nick, shared a tender kiss just as the mess in Cane's maze was coming to an end.
Desperate times on The Young and the Restless

Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) had just come through quite an ordeal that saw Nick with a serious injury. As they sat in the train car, knowing the worst would soon be behind them, Nick asked Sharon to come closer and then gave her a sweet and passionate kiss, sending cheers and applause throughout the devoted Shick fandom.
While it seems like Sharon and Nick might have gotten caught up in the moment, Joshua Morrow understands how it happened.
"Things have been sort of slowly building to this for them," Joshua Morrow told Soap Opera Digest. "They came to France to get away in this very romantic environment. Obviously, things go haywire pretty quickly, but Nick gets involved in this sort of life-or-death situation, and Sharon’s doing everything she can for him, and Nick knows that. They certainly have a ton of history, and I think in that moment they’re finally left alone, and… it just happens."
Where does Shick go from here?

The Young and the Restless fans — and especially die-hard Shick fans — know the road hasn't always been easy for this longtime pair who first fell in love in high school more than 30 years ago. After all, Nick is the man who just keeps on breaking Sharon's heart, usually with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). The last time Sharon and Nick gave it a go, she humiliated him at the altar right after learning he'd had a one-night stand with Phyllis.
Sharon spent the last year looking at Nick with stars in her eyes again, but had given up on anything real happening between them. Should Shick fans give up hope, too?
"They sort of settled into a nice, easy, friendly parenting role," Morrow explained. "Things have certainly ratcheted up since then, between them, just with smaller moments. I think they both are sort of careful. They’ve been down this path, and if it does go the way it sort of looks like it’s going, I think they want to make sure that everybody’s in the right headspace and they’re comfortable and ready. So I don’t think it’s anything that’s going to be rushed, but who knows?"
