The Young and the Restless Behind the Scenes and Spoilers, June 23-27

On The Young and the Restless, the business elite of Genoa City traveled to France for a bombshell revelation and some surprise guests. Here’s a look ahead — and a peek behind the scenes.

On The Young and the Restless, we saw the elite Genoa City-ites travel to Nice, France, at the invitation of the mysterious business tycoon, Aristotle Dumas. Once there, the infamous host exposed his true identity as someone they almost all knew very well: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

In a video during the filming days, Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman), joked that she didn’t know why her character was there yet, but anticipated finding out soon. Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summer) noted that Phyllis wasn’t actually invited, and was more of a party crasher.

As for the Newmans, they just want to go home. Victor (Eric Braeden) plays a game with everyone, noting that he knew all along Aristotle was Cane, but there are still questions as to what Cane wants from them (and why they went all that way if Victor had truly known). But the plot thickens with Adam (Mark Grossman) bursts into their train car with news that he has dug up on Aristotle. Is it something that answers their questions — or has Adam just figured out that Dumas is Cane?

Mark Grossman noted with a smile that “duty calls” explaining, “Yes, Adam has found out some things about Aristotle Dumas and he goes to damn near the ends of the earth to get to France because he’s got some very important information to share with his family.” In the scene, Adam comes in breathless. After he catches his breath and sits down, he explains to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Victor, and adds, “You’re not going to like it, Pop. You’re not going like it one bit.”

Mishael Morgan recently returned to Y&R to play Amanda Sinclair. The Genoa City lawyer is now working for Aristotle Dumas — and holding on to his secrets. She’s warned him not to underestimate having Victor for a foe, although her boss will be undeterred by her advice. Morgan reminded fans of Amanda and Devon’s history, and noted that she and Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) enjoy playing their scenes with the layers of their past added in.

Conner Floyd couldn’t have been more coy. “You get all these different characters together, beautiful environment, cool clothes…a couple of drinks passed around…it’s bound to make some really interesting storylines,” he said, not giving into the new question of why Chance shows up.

Speaking of drinks being passed around, Zuleyka Silver (Audra) laughed that there may be some drinking involved, causing Audra to have more fun than she intended to have. Does the same apply to Kyle (Michael Mealor)? “No cell service…spicy summer seduction,” Mealor quipped. They both laughed when he added, “What happens in Nice stays in Nice.” Or…does it?
