The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings: Days of our Lives alum Lucas Adams cast as Noah Newman

Noah Newman is coming home to Genoa City and The Young and the Restless. Lucas Adams, who played Tripp Johnson on Days of our Lives off and on from 2017 to 2024, has been cast as Sharon and Nick Newman's son, according to TV Insider.

Noah Newman is set to return to The Young and the Restless

When we last saw Noah, he was played by Rory Gibson, who now brings Michael Corinthos to life on General Hospital. Before Gibson, Robert Adamson played Noah. He also brought Port Charles' Michael to life when Adamson stepped in for Chad Duell as a temporary replacement.

Noah left town in 2023 with Jack Abbott's (Peter Bergman) granddaughter, Allie Nguyen Abbott (Kelsey Wang). Recently, Sharon (Sharon Case), Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Faith (Reylynn Caster) visited Noah in Europe. Before he left Genoa City, Noah had a complicated relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). In fact, it was Noah who introduced the complicated character to the canvas.

Will Noah and Audra pick up where they left off? Audra has been involved with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) in recent months, but she may have just blown that relationship sky high.

Adams makes his return to soaps

When Adams takes over the role of Noah, it won't be the first time he has appeared on The Young and the Restless. In 2012, Adams played Wesley, a member of the GC teen scene at that time. He has also appeared on various other series, including Dexter, True Blood, and School of Rock.

From 2015 to 2017, Adams had a regular role on Liv and Maddie, where he met his wife, Shelby Wufert. The pair tied the knot in 2022.

Adams will also see some familiar faces when he steps into the Y&R scene. Tamara Braun, who played Ava Vitali, Tripp's mother on DAYS, was just cast as Sienna Bacall. And Billy Flynn, who spent more than a decade as Salem's Chad DiMera, is now playing Cane Ashby. Ironically, former Y&R star Connor Floyd will debut as Chad next year.

Adams left DAYS last year when his character, Tripp, moved to Hong Kong to practice medicine and be with his girlfriend, Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace). While the door was left open for the character's return, there is no telling who might play him if Tripp ends up in Salem again.
