The Young and the Restless has just cast its second former General Hospital star this week in a new mystery role as Roger Howarth is making the move to Genoa City.
Roger Howarth checks into The Young and the Restless

According to Deadline, Howarth will begin taping at Y&R in September and will make his debut later this year. While details of this new role are under lock and key for now, it looks like Howarth will be part of a brand-new storyline.
Howarth has been a part of the soap opera scene since he made his daytime debut on Loving in 1992. A year later, he joined the cast of One Life to Live as frat boy Todd Manning, an iconic soap role he played off and on until OLTL left the airwaves in 2013. In between OLTL stints, Howarth played Paul Ryan on As the World Turns from 2001 to 2010.
Howarth took Todd from Llanview to Port Charles when the character moved from General Hospital. However, he became a recast Franco Baldwin just one year later. Franco was killed in 2021, but Howarth was back on GH as a new character just a few months later. Sadly, Austin Gatlin-Holt did not catch on with fans and was killed in 2023.
Old home week for Howarth and Tamara Braun

While playing Franco, Howarth was briefly paired with Tamara Braun's Kim Nero when Drew Cain's memories were implanted into Franco's brain for a few months. Franco's Drew was a bit on the obnoxious side, but he thought he was still in love with Kim.
Howarth and Braun will reunite on The Young and the Restless set, as she is the other GH alum who just landed a new role. Earlier this week, news broke that Braun will debut as newcomer Sienna Bacall later this fall. The Emmy-winning actress also played Ava Vitali and Nicole Walker on Days of our Lives. She made her soap debut on GH as Carly in 2001 and also played Reese Williams on All My Children.
There is no word on whether Howarth and Braun will be involved with the same storyline, but with two big names coming onto the scene as GC newcomers, there's a good chance they will be.
